Rod Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 In my short time I've been on the forum I posted a Ford and a Mopar so now it's time for a General Motors product. This is my '55 Chevy Cameo with a '57 box added. I love the egg crate grille on the '55 but prefer the chrome on the bed of the '57. I ised the front clip and engine block from the AMT '67 Impala and some rear end links from the Phantom Vicky kit. The Chevy SSR wheels and tires are froma Maisto die cast. I designed my own interior door panels and carved them from sheet styrene. The dash, console and seats are from a C5 Corvette and modified to fit. I also scratchbuilt the intake and adapted the serpentine pulleys from the Corvette to the 427 engine. The color is house of Kolor persimmon pearl over a Italian red basecoat with a custom mixed butterscothch interior. The grille was sanded from the backside to open it up and I also designed a 4 bar linkage for the hood. Thanks for looking!
TooOld Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 That is drop dead gorgeous ! ! ! What a great job of blending the parts together . Engine , interior , paint , all are beautifully done !
Bartster Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Fantastic ! I love everything about it. Exquisite detail at every point of the truck. I have just finished gathering everything for a similar build. I may go with a "floating" '57 grille. Your truck is very inspiring ! Thanx. Bart
Custom Mike Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Beautiful work Rod, the rear bumper really caught my eye, the paint and chrome looks great, and that license plate is just perfect! The engine looks awesome, so does the chassis and interior, just a great job all the way around, But you've gotta tel us how you made that great hood hinge, that is nice!
rctruk Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Excellent, I like all the details. Great job on adding the running boards or steps when the doors are open. An incredible build.
TFchronos Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 (edited) Wow, that is stunning, very well done, perfect even. A really beautiful truck, major bonus points for the suicide hood. Edited February 16, 2013 by TFchronos
