Lovefordgalaxie Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 This was another of my fast builds, as I started her on last Sunday, and finished on Friday. The AMT kit is based on the original dealer promo, so there are not many parts to worry about, and that is the way I like things. I really like the way AMT used to do models back in the '60s and give them more value than the new tooling kits. I originally wanted this Galaxie to be Acapulco Blue, but I copyed the wrong code from the color catalog, and ended having Viking Blue mixed. I noticed there was something wrong with the color just after I painted the body, but no way I was going to strip the body, specially when the paint resulted good!!! So, Viking Blue she is!! Well, here she is, thanks for looking!! 1963 Galaxie 500 WIP by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1963 Galaxie 500 WIP by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1963 Galaxie 500 XL by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1963 Galaxie 500 XL by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1963 Galaxie 500 XL by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1963 Galaxie 500 XL by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1963 Galaxie 500 XL by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1963 Galaxie 500 XL by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr

drifterdon Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Man that is just gorgeous. Your paint job is perfect and the trim paint for the interior is equally impressive. Amazing build of a difficult model. Very well done! Don
Custom Mike Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Beautiful Galaxie Túlio, the paint does look way too good to strip! Are you gonna do another one sometime in Acapulco Blue?
crazyrichard Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 your def. one of my favorite builders here , the pure finish and cleanness is just awsome , the realism is high looking at your models
Simon Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 That's beautiful! A great example of what excellent results can be had from even the oldest kits. Such lovely paintwork, it really sets of the chrome.
GeeBee Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Very nice build, and that paintwork is flawless,
slusher Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Another outstanding build Tulio, excellent foil work, paint, and detail. The chassie painting is awsume and very realistic...
vintagedragfan Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 really nice build, seen many of these Fords junked, 61 thru 64 ford and mercs were the car of choice for Demo Derbies for many years
Jon Cole Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 (edited) Boy, is that a beaut! One of the sharpest mid sixtees Fords I have seen! Edited February 16, 2013 by Jon Cole
Space Cowboy Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 A very impressive paint job and some well done detail................
Lovefordgalaxie Posted February 16, 2013 Author Posted February 16, 2013 Thank you guys, appreciated!! About building another one in Acapulco Blue, well, maybe a '64!!
hvymtl Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Very nice build having never seen Viking blue before i really like it. Plus i am really loving the parking lot backdrop also Michael
Lovefordgalaxie Posted February 16, 2013 Author Posted February 16, 2013 I wish you guys could see the color better, but it seems to change a bit from picture to picture. I think it's this new camera I got, that I still don't know how to operate properly.
Eshaver Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 I'ts a delight to see such a model Tulio, well done !
Monty Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 (edited) It may not have ended up the color you originally intended to paint it, but I think it worked out in your favor. In addition to making it look like that car just rolled off the assembly line, that icy blue paint just makes it pop! I also love the way you maximize every little detail on these old kits (see firewall). Congratulations on yet another eye-catching build. Edited February 16, 2013 by Monty
