The holley Zinger What ever happened to it?

Anybody know what happened to this Zinger, it was commissioned by Holley Carburetor.

I saw one in 2010, but not sure it was/is the original. I didn't take a good shot of it, but it was the 2010 Milwaukee World of Wheels show, and probably others on the circuit, too. Looking at the banner in the background, the Vette appears to have received forced induction setup at some point:

How many of these have been made now??

I know many were made back in the 70's when MPC first brought the kits out.

I have an OLD Dover Downs race program with pictures of them.

It would not be a surprise that the Vette would be modified in that time.

I'm pretty sure there were only eight different MPC Zingers kits made. They were just reissued a couple years ago. There's the semi, the dune buggy, van, volkswagon, dragster, Corvette, the Dodge van/pickup and the 57 Chevy.

Was the Holley version ever on the show circuit with the other Zingers?

i meant, how many Using 1:1 Engines were made.

I see 4 in the wall poster behind the VW & Vette.

Those 2 plus the Rail & Dune Buggy.

I Think the Dodge Van was also done in that size.

I need to find that OLD Dover Downs Program with the pic's of the.

Wonder if the Girls with them are the same as in that wall poster

Just stumbled across this again. Six of the MPC Zingers kits were modeled after the full size vehicles. I'm pretty sure the Little Red Zinger and the 57 Chevy Zinger never had full size versions.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but i believe the Zinger concept came from Denny Johnson who originally created it a model for a MPC contest.  Pretty cool...if I am right.

I don't remember the exact name but you're right, it was invented by a lone hobbyist modeler who IIRC put MPC 1/20 engines in some AMT 1/43 cars. I hope he got a handsome payday from MPC when they brought the concept to market.

I wouldn't doubt that more than one each of the 1:1 versions were built, to ease shipping them around from show to show.  They weren't runners, and they didn't take up a lot of space.  Once molds were made for the bodies, it wouldn't be tough to make a second or third body off of the same mold.  Whatever they had for a "chassis" wasn't much more than an engine stand.  The engines themselves could have been used-up racing equipment (cracked blocks, damaged heads, etc); they likely didn't have internal parts anyway.  They could have even used those plastic mockup engine blocks, had those existed back then.

The model kits came first, then the full sizes were built to promote them.   

The Holley cross-ram SBC version existed at the same time as the "normal" blown Hemi version : 

Somewhere along the line somebody built a 57, but I think it's much more recent than the originals.
