Thanks guys!

Work has gotten in the way of my building by leaving me very tired and with little to no time whatsoever and I have also been sidetracked by smaller projects. I am going to make this my main project and shoot for the deadline of the Classic Plastic Model Club show on October 6th to finish the Merc.

Work on the interior has started.

I've been polishing the hood and body and found a major flaw on the hood. So far, I have polished the paint down to the plastic and I'll prep for another painting session.

Beautiful work, Mike! She is coming along nicely. Very clean build.

I have one of these with the Model Design detail set, hopefully, one of these years.

Thanks Bill, Charlie, and Scott!

Scott, how have you been? Haven't seen you at the meetings for a while and I hope you can make it to one or at least, the Exhibition on Oct. 6.

Charlie, I'm hoping to see something that you built at the Exhibition on Oct.6.

Bill, you've gotta get one of these!

Thanks Ron!

I painted the body, doors, and hood with a 3rd coat of Tamiya TS-85 Bright Mica Red this morning.

Life has been kicking me really hard in the past month and I am finding little to no time to work on the SLS. I fear that I'll not be able to finish it in time for the Club Challenge for next month's show.

It's gorgeous! I'd be really happy if you finished it and shared the final pictures with us :)

WOW!!!  I started this build nearly 4 years ago and I never finished it because of paint issues.  I have been staring at this model sitting in the stash for some time now and I think I should finish it, so the Merc is coming back out and onto the bench for completion!  Here is where I am at with it...

HAHAHAHAHA! I have a ton of kits like that. I've been doing the same. Trying to pull out some of those very near completion so I can finish them off.

Good luck.

I recently pulled my unstarted kit out of the stash, too.  Now that Revell have released the latest version, I thought I had better build the old one!  Great to see yours back on the bench, hopefully it will inspire me to work on mine!

I recently picked up one of the Tamiya 300SL's for the collection. I really want one of those for my collection, and seeing yours under construction makes me want it more.

Thanks guys!  Now that I'm retired, I have the time to forge ahead and finish these abandoned projects.

I started inon the Mercedes this morning with working on the interior.

The interior door panels were painted and assembled.

I applied the decals to the grille.

Thanks Mark and Bruce!  I used Model Master Flat Interior Tan for the seats and interior panels and various shades of black for the balance of the interior.

I have finished the interior of the SLS AMG!  With all of the colors, parts, and decals, this was time consuming.

Nice work Mike.

I really like the Tamiya Mica Red, it suits this car well.

I wouldn't feel bad about having a couple of kits on the back burner waiting to be resurrected. I'm sure the vast majority of us can say the same.

I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks Rob!  The Tamiya Bright Mica Red TS-85 paint was recommended for this model and as you said, "it suits this car well".  I am normally not the type of person who puts builds on the back burner, but I have been doing so for the last several years and it does bother me some.  I can blame only myself for this, especially with work taking a toll on me with fatique and stress.  Now that I am retired, I can devote more time to finishing my builds and having a clear mind and more energy to do the right thing the first time around and not mess up something forcing me to place another project on the back burner.

I have been plugging away at the SLS this afternoon.  I installed the interior, doors and hood, headlights and taillightsm and the rear window.

If I don't finish the SLS tonight, it'll definitely be done tomorrow.

I have finished my Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and it is posted in Under Glass.  I would like to thank all those who have viewed and commented on my WIP!
