crazyjim Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Here's one of my latest and I'll be posting a '53 Hudson real quick too. My '37 Ford is painted in HOK deep lilac with a coat of Pearl ex interference violet before the clearcoat(s). I've tried to do more engine detailing such as a transmission dipstick and a REMOVABLE oil dipstick (thanks Fatkidd). I added AC lines but this dummy didn't mock the build up so now the hinged hood closes only part way. I bought the kit partially completed. Whoever started it added the hump on the back. I kind of liked it and finished it off. Anyway, here's some pics.
crazyjim Posted March 1, 2013 Author Posted March 1, 2013 Man, you are quick, Ray. I must have been posting the Hudson when you replied. Thank you for the comments. I sure appreciate them. I have to go make dinner now - lemon pepper chicken, white rice, salad, and a Jim Beam & RC Cola. Later.
slusher Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Wow, that looks outstanding. Beautiful color and wheels. Love the detail. All you builds are high standard..
outlaw035 Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 jim i really like the 37...grt8 shade of purple....
crazyjim Posted March 1, 2013 Author Posted March 1, 2013 Thanks guys. I love the '37 Ford and must have build 5 or 6 of them already.
Grumpa Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Beautiful '37 JIm! I love the color (shiney as usual), and the wheels are an interesting choice, but look good on this!
crazyjim Posted March 1, 2013 Author Posted March 1, 2013 Thanks, Mark. If it ain't SHINY, you're just dull. All my builds will be as shiny as I can get them. Wheels are from the parts bin.
Harry P. Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Those are some crazy colors you have going on under the hood!
crazyjim Posted March 1, 2013 Author Posted March 1, 2013 Crazy colors?? Come on, Harry, do you think I'm called CrazyJim for nothing. My roadname has been earned by years of doing CrazY things. Maybe the tattoo on my arm would help prove it?
Harry P. Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Crazy colors?? Come on, Harry, do you think I'm called CrazyJim for nothing. My roadname has been earned by years of doing CrazY things. Maybe the tattoo on my arm would help prove it? A tattoo on your arm? Way too mainstream. Got any others in more "crazy" places?
realgone58 Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 You could win an award for the most use of color! Love the purple!
rmvw guy Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 I love the humpback, is that a resin body? Outstanding job on the detail. I love the AC hoses and your colors always get my attention. Nice job Jim.
crazyjim Posted March 2, 2013 Author Posted March 2, 2013 Thanks, Al. I'll be bringing it FAST today. It's a Revell highway scenes kit - plastic. I bought the started kit and it had the humpback started. I merely finished it off. And thank you, Ron.
crazyjim Posted March 2, 2013 Author Posted March 2, 2013 Thanks, Al. Purple is my favorite color and I firmly believe that whenever you have purple, you gotta have some red. It's probably just a me thing.
TFchronos Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Wow another outstanding build, love the color and engine detail.
Monty Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 (edited) I love purple too! I may have to look into those HOK paints. Edited March 2, 2013 by Monty
crazyjim Posted March 2, 2013 Author Posted March 2, 2013 (edited) Thank you. HOK is the ONLY way to go. This '37 is painted in HOK deep lilac. Edited March 2, 2013 by crazyjim
