CrazyGirl Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 i have to say i only wanted to build a model of a stock car that my neighbor had when i was little , this car somehow became attached to me , i use to peak at it through the fence when ever he would work on it , and one day his wife saw me and said , you know you are more than welcome to come over and so i did and did so over the next 3 years until he moved away and when i went over and that was a lot i would do things like get tools and stuff like that and yep , get full of grease and i would go home and my mom would say , geeesh your a kook and she would get a huge kick out of it , anyway i joined this forum and what now amazes me is the level of what you guys are doing , it's totaly amazing and i am beyond impressed , you people are artists and an inspiration and you all should be very proud !!!

bbowser Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Welcome to the loony bin Anne. We all started somewhere, there's nothing stopping you from being every bit as good as anyone on here! I am totally impressed every day and learning still. Keep plugging on that stock car, you've got a good start.
disabled modeler Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 The passion for building is a on-going learning process that gets in your blood quickly...time and experience is the best teacher. There are many great people here with various talents or specialties to learn from...never be afraid to ask a question.
MAGNUM4342 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Very kind words Ms. Smith. I myself have a list of builders here that I will follow any thread they start. Although it at times makes me feel a little inadequate, I can't help myself thier work is just too good! Welcome to the board.
Foxer Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 (edited) That's a great story and hope you get to build one that satisfies you ... the most important person when you build anything! Did you neighbor race at Riverside? Edited March 13, 2013 by Foxer

Skip Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Anne, Great story! My neighbor had a cute daughter and a A/A fuel dragster. The dragster drew me to his garage first, then I "discovered" girls and hardly spent as much time in the garage!! Went to a whole lot of races though and had a lot of fun with both.
