Ace-Garageguy Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 (edited) People seem to either love 911 Porsches or think they're dorky looking. I'm firmly in the former group, and these have to be the finest 911s on the planet. Singer Vehicle Design is rebuilding old ones as if they were built today, with upgraded systems and engineering but keeping all the original flavor. http://singervehicledesign.com/ Edited March 22, 2013 by Ace-Garageguy
cobraman Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Not a huge fan but that one I would love to have in my garage.
Jon Cole Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 I have always admired the 911, although these days it seems like a car with multiple identities. Every time Porsche changes something, even non visible things such as horsepower is changed, it gets a new numerical designation. I gave up trying to ID the evolution decades ago.
MachinistMark Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 i like them with small block chevy's in them.
sjordan2 Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 i like them with small block chevy's in them. I like them with me in them.
Tony T Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 I love the early 911s and this looks like a great way to update those early cars, unless you are one of the purists! Nothing wrong with improving on a nice design!
IMSANUT Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Very cool. I am a big 911 fan. The single greatest road racing car, based on street design IMHO.
Aaronw Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 An early 70s 911 is one of the few exotic sports cars I would actually like to have. These are nice but I think I would prefer an original.
jaydar Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Looks like my '72 except it was a Targa. Same color too!! Cried when i sold that one. joe.
Guest G Holding Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I still don't think of the 911...it's a 996...GTS3R...They will wake me up!!
Craig Irwin Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Porsche is like Harley Davidson, everything new they build has to look almost like what they built 45 years ago or the buyers scream out loud and stay away from the showrooms. Some of us like it that way.
