gtx6970 Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 There was one but in I think it's 1/43rd scale ? maybe 1/32nd . I have one but don't know where it's at right now . AFAIK, no 1/25th scale was ever avail. if there was, I want one.
george 53 Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Other than Revell's Mark VIII, I can't think of ANY modern kits of ANY Mark. And yes, they were BEAUTIFUL cars!
Lunajammer Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 (edited) If you want to go back in time to an old mold in 1/32, this one's been kicking around through various releases. Edited April 12, 2013 by Lunajammer
Ace-Garageguy Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 (edited) I agree, one of the true greats. Sure would be nice to see someone do a new-tool, correct 1/25 kit of it. Ever see one of the custom converts? Edited April 13, 2013 by Ace-Garageguy
CrazyGirl Posted April 13, 2013 Author Posted April 13, 2013 In 1978 I had sold my T-Bird for a Mk11 , I liked it because to me it was like a 4 seater T-Bird but the zero to 60 in 13 seconds stunk ,,, Bill how much would it cost to have someone make a 1/25 scale resin kit of this auto ???
Ace-Garageguy Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 (edited) ,,, Bill how much would it cost to have someone make a 1/25 scale resin kit of this auto ??? Considerably more than most resin tooling, as there's no kit to base it on, so everything would have to be mastered from scratch. There's not even a proper Lincoln engine of that vintage in 1/25, though the valve covers exist in the old AMT '25 T kit. And as with developing any kit, accessing and fully measuring a 1:1 to produce accurate working drawings takes someone with the time, talent, skill and passion to get it right, then the ability to transfer all of the data into a correctly-scaled master. Very few builders on the planet are qualified, frankly. I wouldn't trust taking dimensions from the ancient Revell 1/32 kit, as I have some of the others in the line and they're not all that accurate, IMHO. EDIT: Apparently there is coming or was a Frankiln Mint 1/24 version...which could be heavily reworked into a basis for a resin kit. Rework would have to be substantial to avoid the old copyright bugaboo though. Article here: http://www.diecast.org/diecast98/html/asp/list_reviews/xq/ASP/id.d747/qx/reviewpix.htm It also looks like Yat Ming does 1/18. Edited April 13, 2013 by Ace-Garageguy
