James2 Posted April 14, 2013 Author Posted April 14, 2013 Love it, love it, love it, that blue scallop sweet. Did you hand panit the red stripe. Thanks! No, Airbrushed the red first then cut some thin Tamiya tape and followed the edge, masked it off again then shot the blue. Sweet! I love the scallops. Did those corrugated hoses come with the kit? Yes it did. And thank you!
Chris White Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Outstanding and as close to perfect as one can get. Nice kit!!!
James2 Posted April 14, 2013 Author Posted April 14, 2013 There's no surf in Cleveland, but here's a few more pictures. Thanks again for the kind words.
larman Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Beautiful model! I love everything about it....you nailed the stance, the wheels and tires are perfect for it, great color and scallops and the motor is killer too!
crazyjim Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 I like your build so much, James, that I started building one. I'll be using a flathead engine with Ardun heads and maybe a fuel cell instead of having the gas tank hang off the back. Ma's Resin M/T Sportsman tires out back. I'm thinking of using the kit wire wheels on it and it'll painted in the brown area. Thanks so much for the inspiration.
Bernard Kron Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Slick! Love the polished modern look and all that chrome!
TLes Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Awesome Dude! I want to drive around in it for at least a day. I gotta get back to my '32s
James2 Posted April 18, 2013 Author Posted April 18, 2013 Thanks guys! I really enjoyed this one myself.
Shardik Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 James, Glad to see this finished. Super sharp paint job and lots of nice clean detail. What really makes this one, though, is those decals . Seriously though, I'm happy to have been able to facilitate such a nice build.
smellyfatdude Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 I have this kit in my stash, and I have to admit it would never have occured to me to build it this way. But, I'm glad you did. That's gorgeous!
PowerPlant Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Somehow I almost missed this one... I really dig the paint scheme
