Jantrix Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 (edited) I should really be calling this one, Left Overs. Because it sure is. She came to life from my parted out 1/24 kits. The kit really lends itself to a classic gasser very well. The straight axle and rear wheels/tires are from the Boothill Express, the I-6 from the Monogram '53 Chevy coupe. It has some great speed parts. Without further ado............some shiny just for Jim. Edited April 14, 2013 by Jantrix
bpletcher55 Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 ROB GREAT LOOKING GASSER ,I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN ABOUT LEFTOVER PARTS SOME TIMES THEY MAKE GREAT MODELS,
Ace-Garageguy Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Very very nice. Cool to see a hot L6 in one of these. Great paint too.
Pete L. Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 (edited) Really cool build ...especially like the wheel/tire combo ! Edited April 14, 2013 by Pete L.
Erik Smith Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Nice model. Great paint and the 6 is a nice change. I like the fact it's not an over-the-top style gasser, it's something you might have actually seen back in the day.
realgone58 Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Rob, that's wild! I love it, from the color to the tires and straight six. Awesome!
Jantrix Posted April 15, 2013 Author Posted April 15, 2013 Thanks everyone. I'm glad you like it. I did do a bit of research. Straight sixes were in fact raced in gassers, and since the '53 came with such a nice one it was a no brainer. I really had to pull it against the firewall to get it to fit though.
W-409 Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 That turned out cool! Nice paint and excellent color. The decals fit perfectly to this one also, and that Six Cylinder Engine is nice & Different choice. Great Job.
Jantrix Posted April 15, 2013 Author Posted April 15, 2013 Thanks very much guys, the decals came from the recent re-issue of the Thames gasser.
ChevyCoupe41 Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Very Cool Chevy! Paint job and color looks awesome. Nice Job!
Evilbenny Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Great color and thanks for the inspiration. That is one cool rod.
fatkidd Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 looks good, Rob. is there a mural on the trunk? will this, and you, be making an appearance at the fairgrounds in october?
Jantrix Posted April 15, 2013 Author Posted April 15, 2013 (edited) A mural? Nope just the rooms reflection in my shiny paint! I hope to be at the MAGS show this year. Likely the Pinellas Park show too if it happens. Edited April 15, 2013 by Jantrix
