My battle with my left-over-from high school '65 Riviera, and some commentary I've seen around here and elsewhere got me to thinking... I know, very dangerous.

What is the color people like to have their kits molded in? It affects paintability, finish, and all kinds of things.

So I'm curious to see what people are thinking.

Title with apologies to Chicago.

Doesn't matter in the least to me... it all gets painted anyway.

No matter what time it is... even 25 or 6 to 4... :D

Didn't you mean "Does anyone really know what time it is?"

Just wondering.

You're the Inspiration........that made me reply to this thread.

Hard for Me to Say I'm Sorry........I don't care what color the model plastic is molded in.

Oh cripes, now we're making a compilation album! Actually, some pretty good tunes here.

I can tell you this, I don't care for bleeding dyes, no matter what color they are! That's what screws up everything.

Old Days....We didn't have as many choices for primers and paints.

Make Me Smile....and use a good primer/sealer and the plastic color won't bleed thru.

Saturday, in the park, I think it was the 4th of July, I decided I prefer white, but I paint everything anyway.

I don't really care, but white or light gray are nice for showing bodywork ... until the first primer coat changes everything anyway. Red and yellow I don't like.

I think it is always the best, when kit is Molded In White. Or then, in some other light color, like Light Grey. But I'm not a fan of Molded In Color-type of things, for example blue, black or red plastic is much harder to paint, since it needs primer and then it takes more time, even if this is not a Speed Competition.

Anyway it doesn't matter if the Plastic Color is black or something else, since then it will be primered and painted properly. So it's better when the kit is Molded In White, but if the subject is interesting, I go ahead and buy it whatever the plastic color is.

Of course we could discuss this topic further.

This is only the beginning...

Glad to hear this........-If You Leave Me Now-.........We'll never know which color of plastic is best.

Another day, in the park, I think it was the 4th of July, we all had diffrent opinions.

It's really not that important in the overall scheme of things.

Probably no higher than maybe... question 67 or 68. :D

But still worthy of a dialogue...

Geeze, what did I start?!

This would be one good "best of" album.

For the record, I like white plastic generally, but especially when I'm doing white, I actually find I prefer light grey. I find the contrast is very helpful.

I do wish someone would come up with something like that ceiling paint that changes colour (my world- hey, everyone else is having fun!) as it dries to check coverage as I go.
