cobramike Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 this is the T-Bird I started about a month ago. I tried to make it solid red...didn't like that, tried solid White, once again stripped it all off, then I saw a '56 Bird on a web page that was beautiful Black and so went with that. This was NOT one of my fav builds. Too many parts needed to be "fixed" because allot of them just would not fit. The flash on the parts was excessive, but probably for it's day maybe not. Hope you all like it.
unclescott58 Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 I'm a little confused. "55T Bird done!"? It looks like a '56 too me.
Greg Cullinan Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Looks good. And when a build goes like that the best part is when it's done, and on to the next one.
MsDano85gt Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 nice what black paint is that? not shiney not too dull looks like bare kit black plastic sometimes does......
Sport Suburban Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 You did a nice job. What kit did you start with? Both Revell and AMT have a 56 Thunderbird. No one has made a 55 Thunderbird in 1/25 or 1/24 scale. Just the big AMT 1/16 kit.
MrObsessive Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 From the appearance of the windshield and hardtop shape, it's the 1/24 Revellogram kit. I did convert one of these into a '55 years ago, but other than the conversion, I had no trouble with parts fitting. I guess the tooling is wearing out as this kit dates back to 1982 IIRC.
