CrazyGirl Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 I just noticed that Modelhaus has this car , 1967 Grand Prix , now I have to get it but I sure would like to see it , does anyone of you have this car built , the hardtop model , Thanks
Nitro Neil Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Everything that Modelhaus sells is top-notch. You won't be disappointed with their models.
High octane Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 That is cool Harry. A friend of mine has a ! : ! ;67 GP convert that he plans on restoring. The '67 is the ONLY year that Pontiac offered the convertible on the Grand Prixs.
Harry P. Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Thanks, Nick... but it's not mine. I found the images by doing a google image search.
Rob Hall Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 The Modelhaus '67 GP is very nice..I have the ht and convertible kits, along w/ their '66 GP ht in my unbuilt resin collection.
CrazyGirl Posted May 16, 2013 Author Posted May 16, 2013 (edited) thanks Harry ,, now I can order that car , the 67 Grand Prix is special to me , my dad bought that car new in 67 and passed away a few months later , I actually spent a few years trying to track the car down to buy it but I have had no luck , so a model will have to do , just glad I noticed they make it ,, ok done deal , but 6 to 8 weeks , that's not bad I guess ! Harry P. Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Modelhaus has a stellar reputation. You'll be pleased.
george 53 Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Anne, I've seen his 67 on display at shows and it is a BEAUTIFUL kit built up. AND you'll probably be the only kid on your block with one! And YES Holthaus stuff is TOP notch!
Ron Hamilton Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 I have one of the hardtops (unbuilt), which is very nice and well done. The only problem I saw was the "Grand Prix" on the rear fenders are of the wrong font, so I removed them. The only reason it is not built. is that I have not decided on the color combo, and whether or not to install a vinyl roof. A fellow near my barber had one that was Plum with Parchment interior. I am leaning towards triple black, with 8-lugs and red lines. That is one beautiful car.
dimaxion Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Drool , this is on my list down the Road ... Thanx ..
am73grand Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Here is mine....fantastic kit but it is a curbside. The hood does not open.
LongRoofNut Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Don Holthaus runs one heck of a program there. His stuff is about the best you can get.
khier Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 This does not show the Grand Prix, but you can have a look on a number of Modelhaus models: http://public.fotki.com/jsharisky/modelhaus_resin_items/
zenrat Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 That is cool Harry. A friend of mine has a ! : ! ;67 GP convert that he plans on restoring. The '67 is the ONLY year that Pontiac offered the convertible on the Grand Prixs. That's one of mine Nick. Glad you like it. It was inspired by the advertising artwork. Anne - wheels shown on my build are from the AMT '65 Buick & not from the 'haus. Only problem I had was due to my own clumsiness in breaking one side of the windscreen surround. I also found it tricky to get the vacuum formed "glass" to fit snugly but that was probably more due to my inexperience with it.
blueovl150 Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Here is mine....fantastic kit but it is a curbside. The hood does not open. Perfect! Sometimes a curbside is just what the doctor ordered to get you thru a mental "hump"!
dimaxion Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Here is mine....fantastic kit but it is a curbside. The hood does not open. Perfect! Sometimes a curbside is just what the doctor ordered to get you thru a mental "hump"! I've found using Clear Watch Crystal Glue and masking tape to hold it in place works well for Vacuum Formed Glass . A little is enough . Practice first to get the "feel" for this procedure . Thanx ..
