502 Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 I was looking at the 48-50 chevy suburban, cabover, and bus they offer. Has anyone ever dealt with them? If so did you have a good or bad experience? I just want to get some info before I buy anything.
george 53 Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Ron Andrews is a VERY GOOD resin caster. I have a few of his kits and have NOT been dissapointed in ANY of my purchases. I HAVE met him and he's ALSO a pretty cool guy too. Go ahead and order from him, he WON'T do you wrong!
JamesW Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Yeah, what George said. I got this from him a couple weeks ago.
64SS350 Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 I have also purchased couple from him. Overall very nice, I got the 55-57 5700 Crew Cab and the 50 Breadvan. They both are very nice, the 5700 door lines could have been better, have to rescribe them. The Breadvan is just COOL!
kitbash1 Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 I've bought one of his Charger conversion trans-kits. Ron is a easy guy to deal with, and has a fast turn around time for shipping. Go ahead and order, he's ok.
Yahshu Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Ron's great to deal with, I'll be getting more stuff from him once I'm back at work.
whale392 Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 I have only had one dealing with him (Toledo NNL). He is a good guy and has some good stuff. That being said, I got the 65 Dodge D100 he had, and was not overly impressed with the overall finish of the resin. It may be that mine was cast close to the end of the molds life, as I was finding bits of the mold in the resin I was working with. If you see the stuff in person, go for it. I still would buy from him again, as I believe everyone deserves more that one chance (especially when I understand mold degradation issues).
Nitro Neil Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 His stuff isn't as good as Modelhaus stuff, but it's well worth the prices he is charging and he has some great unusual subject matter. I built this from his 32 Ford Hearse body.
Guest G Holding Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 I like his stuff....He can be hard to communicate with...ignored many e mails, But he does make some great COE bodies!
gtx6970 Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 I've got his early Dodge crew cab truck , I have no complaints. Once paid I had in it in my hands in maybe 2 weeks tops
blazefox Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 (edited) Can you pay for there products with debit Ive been wondering because im not to great with figureing out paypal Edited May 27, 2013 by blazefox
JamesW Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Paypal or M.O. PP isn't hard to use. Just create your account and link your bank account or debit card. It's pretty straight forward.
Steven Zimmerman Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 I had a Paypal account, we kept a minimal amount in the bank to keep it active, and would deposit enough to cover our purchases. We got hijacked several years ago, and Paypal has never resolved the issue - kept giving us passwords that never worked....Therefore, I won't use it.
JamesW Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 The thing with pp is, you don't even need to link your account. You can deposit money into it with a greendot money pak. Or just use a prepaid credit card.
Randytheroadrunner Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 I noticed his website has no prices, and hasn't been updated for a long time. How do you get a price list from him? Isn't this the guy that used to run a hobby shop in Meadville PA? If it is, I've met him.
Ben Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Yeah, what George said. I got this from him a couple weeks ago. Um.....something doesn't look right!
