As a fan of Overhaulin', I look forward to the wonderful builds on each episode. The recent episode featuring a '64 Fury inspired me to build the Lindberg '64 Belvedere similar to that Fury.

My paint will be Tamiya TS-26 Pure White for the roof and Tamiya TS-75 Champagne Gold for the main body.

The wheels used for the Fury are Foose one-offs and Pegasus has a set of Chrome Hellas that look close so I got a set of 19" and 23" Hellas for this build along with disc brakes to match.

Since I have this particular episode on my HD DVR, I have my reference material close at hand.

Here's a little progress...

For those of you who are not familiar with what I am trying to accomplish, here's a picture of the '64 Fury.

I thought I had another can of the Pure White, but I don't. I stopped at my LHS and was going to pick up another can, but changed my mind when I saw the TS-45 Pearl White paint. The Pearl White is not as bright or stark as the Pure White and blends with the TS-75 Champagne Gold better.

I started cleaning up the body tonight. Very, very little flash or mold lines! I'll get it washed, primered, and ready for paint!

One of my favorite B-bodies right here! Love the 64 Plymouths, 63 Plymouths, 65 Dodges, and the 66-67 Dodge and Plymouths.

Do her justice, Mike. These cars have beautiful lines just aching for a good build!

Hi MrMike,

I just watched that episode about a week ago?? Anyhoo, that was one cool Belvidere!!

I had the same thought..to do it in scale so I'll be living it vicariously through your build.

Can't wait to see more.

Thanks guys for the support! First, the car in the episode of Overhaulin' was a '64 Fury, not a Belvedere. I am using the Lindberg '64 Belvedere to build my version of that car. Second, no Hemi or 225 for this car, just a Commando 426 Wedge.

Tonight I assembled the Commando 426 Wedge engine and drilled the plug holes.
64Plymouth08.jpg
Tomorrow, I'll paint the Wedge with Street Hemi Orange Engine Enamel.
64Plymouth07.jpg
I filed the sides of the hood since it was a tight fit and paint would have made the fit even tighter.
64Plymouth09.jpg
The only mold lines I have been able to find are near the tops of the "A" pillars and a little filing and sanding should take care of those.

Thanks Carl! Here's a little progress...

I got the body and hood washed and dried and into a coat of Krylon White Primer.

64Plymouth10.jpg

The 426 Wedge got a coat of Street Hemi Orange.

64Plymouth11.jpg

I wanted to see some of the TS-75 Champagne Gold on a few parts to see what the color actually looked like.

64Plymouth12.jpg

It's a bit darker than the cap color, but I really like it. Should look good with the TS-45 Pearl White on the roof!

I masked and painted the roof Saturday with Tamiya TS-45 Pearl White and this morning I remasked and painted the body with Tamiya TS-75 Champagne Gold.

Thanks guys!

Very nice! Where can one get the hemi orange paint from? I usually mix Chevy engine red/orange with turn signal amber...

I purchased my can of Hemi Orange from Summit Racing. If you want accurate engine paint, you've got to get the original stuff. This 12 oz. can is going to last me for a very long time. That means a lot of scale Mopar Hemis, big blocks, and a few small blocks.

I got most of the suspension pieces painted in semi gloss black.

The mufflers and tailpipes have been installed onto the chassis. The rotors have been painted with steel metalizer and the calipers will be painted red.

One little item I forgot to add to the engine block was the oil filter and filter mount.

I have finished foiling the body and gave it a couple mist coats of clear.

Next up...a couple wet coats of clear and onto wiring the Commando 426!
