Wonderbread Kustomz Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Started this one recently and decided to make the side trim for it. Tis is the 76 Stepside kit. I'm building it as a project in progress build minus the bed. So far I've notched the rear and filled the sunroof in. Not sure where the rims came from, but they were painted aluminum and were chipped, so I painted them black.
gonzo64nova Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 The side trim is a nice addition, are you planning a two tone paint scheme?
Wonderbread Kustomz Posted May 30, 2013 Author Posted May 30, 2013 Thanks guys! I'm thinkin of doin two tone. Maybe white and baby blue...
Jordan White Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 I was gonna post last night, but the forum decided to die again haha... If my eyes are correct, those look like the wheels from the '99 F-150 Lightning kit. I'm liking the stance so far though!
Wonderbread Kustomz Posted May 30, 2013 Author Posted May 30, 2013 Thanks! Jeff, it isq, but this was the one with the racing boat and trailer
Wonderbread Kustomz Posted May 30, 2013 Author Posted May 30, 2013 Got some more done on this. Originally wasnt gonna weather this, but then I thought what the hell... I ve got a great start on the rear suspension. Made bag mounts, and started making links ...
gonzo64nova Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 James, the frame looks really good and the stance looks perfect. Two tone it then weather it, that would look very cool.
kalbert Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Weathered or in primer will be cool, especially if it's a model of a wip. You going to do the frame rusty, but paint the notch a blueish bare steel color, and have the suspension be shiny new?
Wonderbread Kustomz Posted May 31, 2013 Author Posted May 31, 2013 Thanks guys... I do believe that's the route I'm gonna go with the frame... I've been enjoying working on this. It's been so long since I've built a slammed truck...
JasonFL Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Pretty cool build you have going on here the frame looks real clean and simple. Lookin forward to seein more.
