Porscheman Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Built this AMT kit straight out of the box. 5 coats of Tamiya's black out of a can and no clear. The redwalls are SATCO dry transfers.Al
Sixties Sam Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Great build! I like it in black. I recently built that kit. It had a warped chassis and many fit issues. Yours looks really good! Sam
Porscheman Posted June 7, 2013 Author Posted June 7, 2013 Thanks everyone This black paint job is the best I've ever done and I don't know how I did it
Albie D Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Agreed, looks awesome in black. Nice job on a tough color!
wrecker388 Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Smart move on skipping the roof and making it a convertible. Building the hardtop version was a nightmare. Yours looks GREAT!
charlie8575 Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Thanks everyone This black paint job is the best I've ever done and I don't know how I did it Everyone I've seen use that Tamiya black has had nothing but good results with it. Frankly, I think that's the best-looking build of that kit I've ever seen. Charlie Larkin
LongRoofNut Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I have only had luck once painting black and that was 20 years ago on a English taxi. Now I am building a replica of my '76 Monte Carlo and I have stopped due to not wanting to screw up the black. This might be the bump I need to continue. Looking awesome!
