Scottnkat Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 In my continuing efforts to complete all of my open-box builds so I have no more open-box kits, here's the Ford Mustang II concept car by Lindberg. The kit was not too bad and it wasn't missing any parts, so that was a bonus after some of the kits I've been doing lately. It was build box-stock with the exception of the flocking for carpeting. Here's the pics:
PowerPlant Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 This is the first time I see this kit built... As a huge Mustang fan, I must say, I'm glad it never ended up looking like that You did a great job on it though!
1930fordpickup Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Looks nice . I have always wondered how this kit went together .
Porscheman Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Very nice build I built this kit as a kid when it was originally produced by IMC. They built very advanced kits for the mid 60's.
Guest Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Nice. I have tis kit, gonna cut down the engine and make it a V-4.
cobraman Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 You did a great job on what I consider to be a tough kit to build well.
Scottnkat Posted June 17, 2013 Author Posted June 17, 2013 Thanks for all the nice comments - I appreciate it
Maindrian Pace Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Looks great, and this may be the first time I have ever seen this kit built. As it is a historic Mustang, I wonder why that is. -MJS
maltsr Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Nice job Scott, this is a tough kit to build but you pulled it off. Nice to see it built stock, here's my 'custom' version if I may:
grayghost Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Very nice model. I did a search on google but did not find much on this car. Was it ever a real car?

Dominik Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Outstanding car - well done! Thank you for sharing his rare model
PowerPlant Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 (edited) Very nice model. I did a search on google but did not find much on this car. Was it ever a real car? Well, at least one was built, that's for sure... But it was a concept car and it never went into mass production as such... However, the 64, 65 and 66 Mustangs were largely based on it. Perhaps someone can provide more info? Edited June 17, 2013 by PowerPlant
Scottnkat Posted June 17, 2013 Author Posted June 17, 2013 Thanks for the comments, everyone. Paul, yours looks really nice in red - great job on it.
