I was thinking Fiat too, but I'm not familiar with the 125 range, and I've never even heard of the Samantha. Good one, Harry!

And Mike, I'd never think you'd'a come right out with the answer. Frankly, I agree with your assessment - it DOES look like a cross between the Elan and a Triumph GT6!
