realgone58 Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Finished this one up the day the board disappeared. It's a Jo-Han promo re-issue from the '80s, it was molded in a non-stock color, so I had this factory color mixed up at the local auto body supply. Algiers Rose Copper metallic, with a brown/tan interior. These little Ramblers sure had a bunch of chrome trim on them! Chrome was shot, so bumpers and wheel covers are Spaz-Stix.
Ace-Garageguy Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Very nice. Looks like you took extra time polishing and fitting the 'glass' too.
Harry P. Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Very nice! Unusual subject, and I love the colors. Sure could use a mirror or two, though...
realgone58 Posted July 13, 2013 Author Posted July 13, 2013 Very nice! Unusual subject, and I love the colors. Sure could use a mirror or two, though... I know...........I need to buy an entire box of mirrors for all my builds!
bbowser Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Very nice. I remember when these and wagons roamed the roads, great job.
Porscheman Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Beautiful build Al. Did you ever think Harry has a surplus of mirrors he's trying to get rid of
Guest Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 That is sweet! I sure wish Johan had made a comeback, a wealth of unusual subjects!
Tom99 Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 In 1962, my friends father ordered a Rambler Classic, just like your model. At that time, it was a rare color. Your model looks great, and brings back long ago memories.
1972coronet Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Super nice Rambler , Alan ! I'm pretty sure that exterior rear view mirrors were still optional until circa 1963 or 1964 ...
realgone58 Posted July 15, 2013 Author Posted July 15, 2013 Thanks very much guys. Jo-Han is my favorite! I wish they were still here too.
Sixties Sam Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Great rendition of an unusual subject. The color looks just right. Excellent work! Sam
Jeff B Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Such a cool C pillar/backglass, I rarely see Ramblers in scale or 1:1. Beautiful build!
