Ace-Garageguy Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 I posted what I thought was a humorous, if sarcastic, response to the question of "where's Anne". It ultimately resulted in name calling, and the thread being locked. How interesting. Just for the record, I never took sides as to whether she was as-represented or not. Her work looked good, and she was always polite and friendly to me. I was polite and friendly to her in return. ==================================================================== Sarcasm Definition 5 (from Urban Dictionary): A form of humour which derives laughs from saying something while really meaning something else. Often (though not always, contrary to popular belief) used in scathing remarks. Sarcasm Definition 6 (same source): Something that nobody on the internet can ever recognize.
Jantrix Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 I thought it was funny. But you have to realize, because of the anonymous nature of the internet, folks who are completely non-confrontational in real life can feel free to express and indulge themselves in a way they would never do to your face. These folks are to be pitied really. We call them trolls for a reason.

I didn't lock the topic, but my guess is that it was locked not because of your post, but because of what it was probably going to tun into if left alone. Nip it in the bud, as Barney always said...
blunc Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 (edited) well, barf !!!! some people take all the fun out of teh interwebs. (this was made in jest...just in case anyone missed that aspect) Edited July 21, 2013 by blunc
blunc Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 please try to shame the leg humpers as little as possible. is it time to lock this thread yet?
MAGNUM4342 Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 (edited) I like your cat, Kevin. Thanks Bill. My place has lever style door latches so when she can't get the door open from under she'll jump up and pop the latch by hitting the lever! She used to do that with the screen door to let herself out, but after an encounter with a skunk I keep it locked. I told her if she figured out how to unlock the door she could come and go as she pleased. So far...nuthin. As for Anne, I agree, she was always pleasant to me and even sent me a couple items asking for nothing in return. Maybe the guy in the picture was a brother, boyfriend or son, I can't speak to that. All I can say is a suspicious mind is a paranoid mind. I do not understand why certain folks were so threatened by her but such is the internet. At least she never tried to lure anyone into her basement right? Edited July 21, 2013 by MAGNUM4342
Guest Johnny Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Thanks Bill. At least she never tried to lure anyone into her basement right? Kevin, my son and wife picked up a kitten that they almost ran over out in the middle of nowhere on a highway with swamp on both sides. No a feral as he was a really friendly guy. Took him home and he and their yellow lab became best buddies from day one. The dog was shut in the master bedroom all day when they were at work. One day they came home to find him out. They thought maybe they hadn't gotten the door shut good. One day they decided since the cat was getting into things they would put him in the room too. Came home that night and they were both sitting on the couch! Turned out they found that the cat had figured out how not only how to open the door from outside where it opened in, but also from inside by hanging on the lever handle and pushing on the door facing with his hind feet then the dog would quickly stick hi nose in the gap to keep it open! ! As far as the thread goes. Some people need to concentrate on what the person is posting, not what they are or are not. Anne took a lot of unnecessary flak off a few people that should have kept their "personal" opinion about her to themselves.

I think "sycophant" would be taken as a greater insult by those who knew it's meaning. I thought I hit a happy medium.
James2 Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 I thought you'all where starting a new club or something! "LEGHUMPERS MCC" (MODEL CAR CLUB) Interesting that the same guys usually use the name calling technique....
