slusher Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Very very nice build. Nice touch on the color and stripes...
Mrdarkmonkey96 Posted July 27, 2013 Author Posted July 27, 2013 Very very nice build. Nice touch on the color and stripes... Thanks! I dont know why but I saw that color in the hobby store, and it just popped into my head that it HAD to have silver stripes.
charlie8575 Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Very nice work, Anthony. I would suggest working a little on your striping. Try laying down some painter's tape, and using a compass and/or circle template, mark out your propsed radii, cut off the tape covering where you want to paint and lay your paint down. You'll have a smoother stripe and more even corner. You've got a good eye and excellent skills. Trying that will help you. If you can make it up to our next meeting, we have plenty of guys that can help you with that. Bring that model, too. I'm sure everyone will enjoy seeing it. Charlie Larkin

Charlie Larkin your referring to the side stripe correct? the was a really tricky tape-job because its not really a corner so the way it goes up, then back again wanted to slide the tape of the ridge. I was attepting to have the stripe EXACTLY where the side of the car meets the top, like a pinstripe. thanks for the tip!
PappyD340 Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 SUPER job Anthony, tapeing those ridges can be quite tricky indeed, but overall I think it's fantastic, very good color combo!!

geetee66 Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 This kit builds up into a really great looking car! I love the stripes on the green. Excellent choice. Decals look great, too. My only tiny criticism, would be that you need to give the tail lights another coat of clear red. Then tidy up the edges with a toothpick when its dried. Have you tried BMF yet? Give it a go, it's not that tricky to use.
TFchronos Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 I could see that at the drag strip doing that wheelie. It looks amazing, great details, must have been a lot of fun putting all those decals on. Great job on it!
MikeyB08 Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 I love this kit. I noticed you cut away those annoying Scoop Air Separator things. I did too, felt like it obstructed the heart of this beast. Great color choice and killer move on the silver stripes. Great Job!
Harry P. Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 If that's supposed to be a street car, you need windshield wipers. If it's supposed to be a strip car, why the heater hoses, header extensions and mufflers?
realgone58 Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 I like the Lime Ice with the silver. Looks awesome.

If it's supposed to be a strip car, why the heater hoses, header extensions and mufflers? I kinda went in between the two. I used the GTS rear bumper and the fuel lines from the 440 motor. I didnt want to put wipers on it, and the exhaust is for the drag racng version. I guess its a semi streetable racer you could say.

Haha I actually broke one off by accident so I removed the rest!

Bare Metal Foil won't peel off over time, if you apply it correctly (NOT over waxed paint). I have models more than 30 years old and the foil is still good as new. In fact, I have never had even one instance of the foil coming off a model... and I have built a lot of models.
