Jim B Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 The planets must be aligned properly, or something because I actually managed to finish a truck! Wow! Anyway, here is my version of the Revell 1937 Ford delivery truck. I only built this guy to see how the kit was because my son who turned 8 in May wanted a glue kit. I wasn't sure what kit to get, because he's also been hounding me for an ambulance kit. Since I wasn't going to spring for a SSB Resin kit for an 8 year old, I was at a loss. The Revell issued this kit & I thought it would be perfect. I have to admit that there are some tricky parts, but I think we'll be able to handle them together. My version is the Sexton Foods version with two-tone Tamiya Green over Dark Green. It's essentially "box-stock", but hey, it's done!
Harry P. Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I'm not too sure you would have seen anything like that super bright green back in the day, but a very nice model.
Jim B Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 Thanks, guys. Harry, Sexton Foods was light green over dark green. The light green I used (Tamiya TS22) isn't quite a "neon" in actuality.
slusher Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Very nice build.Together you should have fun building another one. There is this kit thats a rescue kit but its snap....http://www.modelroundup.com/product-p/mpc-r2-797.htm
Jim B Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 Thanks, guys. Carl, I've seen that one too at a LHS.
Jim B Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 Thanks, Chris. Playing around with Photobucket, and I came up with this "period correct" photo:

Jim B Posted August 6, 2013 Author Posted August 6, 2013 Thanks, guys. As I'm looking at the photos again, I noticed that I forgot to add the windshield wipers! I kept looking at to saying, "Something's missing. The windshield doesn't look quite right." DUH!
rmvw guy Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Nice job, I love the two tone on this one.
