cobraman Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Just finished this one today. Pretty much stock from the box. I dull coated the wheels. I used self stick felt that I got at Hobby Lobby for the carpet. I lowered the front but from the photos you wouldn't think so. I should of gone lower. That's what I get for not doing a mock up when I finished the chassis. I used a MAD distibutor which I must say are about the best ones to work with. The car is painted Prowler Purple then the decals were added and I hit it with 3 coats of Wet Look Clear. Polished a bit with Novus. Not one of my best builds and will go back in the box and in my storage closet. This one will not go in one of my display cabinets. On to the next one !!! Thanks for looking. And as always comments are welcome. Harry if your looking I know there are no door handles. It has hidden "poppers". : )
Chris White Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 I would be proud to show that off, great build
Porscheman Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Beautiful build Ray. Great color and finish!!!!
MikeyB08 Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 You're right. It's not that great... IT"S EXCELLENT!! Love the color. I think it looks awesome.
TooOld Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Looks pretty good to me Ray , but I know how you feel when a build doesn't turn out the way you wanted . . . been there many times ! I agree with you about the M.A.D. distributors . . . only ones I will ever buy !
slusher Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 Ray, thats a nice build. If it was mine l would show it.
cobraman Posted August 8, 2013 Author Posted August 8, 2013 Thanks guys. If you look at the exhaust you will see I cut off all the back section and added aluminum ends. Why ? Because stupid me got ahead of myself and installed the rear end. No way to get the full exhaust in. What to do ? Cut it off. Also I notice that I forgot to lengthen the drive shaft as it was too short. You can see it doesn't quite make it to the differential. : ( Not my best work.
Ramfins59 Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 Ray, none of us build "the perfect model". You have nothing to be ashamed of with this build. No one is going to pick it up and look underneath... Yeah...... I know...... You will... Nice job anyway.
PappyD340 Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 Ray, that build looks darn good to me, SUPER job!!
Harry P. Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 Harry if your looking I know there are no door handles. It has hidden "poppers". But it does have a mirror! but no inside mirror...
1930fordpickup Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 It is a good looking model car , put it on the shelf for display . Sure it is not a Cobra, but they all can not be that lucky .
cobraman Posted August 8, 2013 Author Posted August 8, 2013 But it does have a mirror! but no inside mirror... I see another "new" Harry !!!! Also, you sir are a ball buster !!! : )
Harry P. Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 Also, you sir are a ball buster !!! : ) I like to think of it as "tough love"...
sarkasim99 Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 I think it's great looking. I agree with your opinion about the stance. With those large wheels, it should be "tucking" just a bit. Great build none the less.
TFchronos Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 Amazing build, nice color choice, it looks great!
Helix Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 That's nice Ray, like those wheels, gives me an idea
