Been working on this for a while, but had to put it on the back burner because I ran out of paint. I have some now and it will find its way back to my bench.

GOing to use this kit to build, or try to anyway. I have a feeling that I will be using everything but the wheels and tires and the body from this kit.

And I will be adapting these wheels and tires. They are the Vantage wheels from Pegasus.

Like I said, I will be using a lot of parts from the kit and fitting them to the body.

Had this sloppy mess as a tailgate to work with.

It would be my guess you have here a resin cab and box. I find this exciting as my dad ordered a '61Stude Champ in Omaha Orange. It had an automatic and sliding rear window.. It seems as though it had chrome front bumper and grill. It would move pretty fast. As a senior in high school I felt pretty cool driving this around Norton, Kansas. Obviously there was not another like it in town--or maybe the state. There weren't many Champs.

Are these resin pieces? If so, can you recall where you found them. Knowing how few changes there were in the last years of Studes it is possible this would fit on the Johan convert frame.

I got this off ebay. Frontier resin designs. Honestly the exterior of the mold is good, its just thick in a lot of places. And I never thought to put it on the convert frame.

I probably wont be taken much if any models over there with me. I may take about 5 or so if I can get them in the slow shipment.

I have the old SJS Studebaker Champ resin kit. The front piece on the SJS kit wasn't all that accurate, basically an exact copy from the Johan Lark convertible. The Champ bumper sits quite a bit lower than the Larks, and exposes a lot of detail that's not on the Johan. I used to have a '63 Lark and still own a complete NOS front panel. I'd be happy to photograph it for you if you'd like. PM me.
