comp1839 Posted August 11, 2013 Author Posted August 11, 2013 here are the rear shocks. over the weekend i got around to making the motor plate, and front wheels.
cobraman Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Off to a great start ! I will be sure to watch this one.
Tony G Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Awesome start Dave, what material did you use to make the rotors?
Prostreet Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Yeah man, I have been waiting for this. Looking Great Dave.
dpride Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 I wondered when this would reappear. The engine is one of your best.
futurattraction Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 As others have said, it's great to see this one back on the move. Super work, Dave...!
comp1839 Posted August 12, 2013 Author Posted August 12, 2013 thanks a ton, guys!!! it'd good to be working on this car again. it has sat entirely too long. tony, the rotor itself is a machinable composite of some sort. sort of like, but not, renshape. where it's from..........i don't know. sorry. the hubs are machined aluminum.
Red rocket 10 Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Dave good to see you back ,this car is one fine piece man , it is amazing ! Leonard

comp1839 Posted August 16, 2013 Author Posted August 16, 2013 (edited) thank you guys! got the drawings done for the rear wheel centers. here's one of them. . fits nicely over the wheel hubs / studs. used a sharpie to see what they'll look like in black. Edited August 17, 2013 by comp1839
futurattraction Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Super job, Dave! Looking forward to more...
comp1839 Posted August 18, 2013 Author Posted August 18, 2013 finished the other wheel center and got onto the rim. these wheels replicate a 16x16 double beadlock wheel w/ 4 1/2" backspace and a 5" bolt circle. the wheel. still have to machine the beadlock portion on the wheel. then make the bead lock rings.
GoatGuy Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Looks awesome Dave. Looking forward to more. Hope to see you in Gilbertsville on 9/8.
futurattraction Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Works of art, Dave. That's all I can say...
comp1839 Posted August 18, 2013 Author Posted August 18, 2013 thanks dave and scott. appreciate the comments. dave, probably will be there. be lookin' for ya'.
comp1839 Posted August 20, 2013 Author Posted August 20, 2013 hey greg, my apologies. i was going to answer your question about the body and it slipped my mind. as of yet, i haven't done any body prep. i want to get the main frame rails built and some of the cage so i can mount the body. i believe, i need to support it better for sanding. i'm a little heavy handed.
