martinfan5 Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Been looking forward to getting started on this one, finally got the resin kit, and here is a look at it , I am playing with the idea of a engine swap on this one, and swapping in the J2Z from Supra and a look at the body before I get started Cut open the fenders, yes, ugly cuts Mock up And glued in place
martinfan5 Posted August 14, 2013 Author Posted August 14, 2013 And the front bumper piece on and the lower rocker piece's on Not a lot to post, taking care of a few issue's that I caused , one of them and I forgot to take a before pic was the right fender piece at the top , the edge or lip was not sitting flush with the top of the fender, I believe that was due the multiple attempts it took to get it lined up and the glue build up was causing it to stick up, so a little bit of putty to blend them together And I sort of took to much off the rear bumper well , so had to fix that too, so again, out comes the putty
cobraman Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Looks like a nice kit. I will be watching to see what you can do with it.
martinfan5 Posted August 14, 2013 Author Posted August 14, 2013 Have not done a lot, sort of at a stand still tell the Supra kit arrives, but I did start on the brakes, first thing was I had to remove the rear part of the kits brakes that attach to the suspension looking at the P/E sets, three P/E trees, and most of them make up the brakes and with the suspension taped up to the chassis, how about a mock up, and that is what it is right now still have some work on the alignment on the rear and the front does not have the tie rod attached and here are all the bits that make up one, yes one brake rotor, 11 bits for each rotor and awhile later, four done, I am not happy, I made a mess of them with the CA glue, lucky they will be hidden for the most part attached to the front/rear suspension
krazyglu Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 That does look like a nice kit to build, those brakes are awesome.

PappyD340 Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Extremely NICE start Jonathan, I like the looks of it!
martinfan5 Posted August 17, 2013 Author Posted August 17, 2013 Here we go, a few shots of the engine in place and the bottom plate, as you can see, I had to open it up to let the engine sit further down And I started working on the interior, replacing the kit seats with these
