And from out of the woods in Oregon...

Worked on this last evening and so now have something to report.

A new fan shroud was vacuum formed because research has shown that I got the exhaust manifold on the wrong side of the heads. <_<

Exhaust ports are on the back side, therefore I removed the exhaust manifold and will use 7 straight pipes simply venting to the rear of the car.

Also, the engine clutch is part of the cooling fan which was cast in aluminum and might also be the flywheel but the information is not quite complete there yet... At any rate, I will probably run power down to a transmission mounted on the front lower crossmember making the shift linkage simple. Then power will move back to the rear axle.

After discovering the correct rotational direction of this motor, I also realized that the intake tubes need to be replaced. I also got the tube size too thick. Not a problem to replace!

Rear motor bracket now perches on the ends of the frame horns. I will have to beef them up somehow, keeping in mind what a Highschool kid with a torch might do...

There must be a lot of good going on in Oregon . . . I can feel it . . . the man is possessed . . . between working on his other duties, and the Truckster, Mr. J is keeping himself entertained with lots of music, beer, and the smell of styrene . . .

Go J, Go!!! Go J, Go!!!

If you,re worried about the center of gravity try laying the engine flat. The beds empty isn't it? Corvair trans axle, IRS, chain drive from tank clutch to trans axle. 3 pedals... I have to leave now the orderly has my meds.

Well, if the tank is a 1/35th, I guess he is making it fit via poetic liscense . . . which is very cool . . . but I wonder if they ever made 1/24th tanks? In any case, this is turning out to be a fabulous build . . . can't wait to see more of it coming together . . . . it looks like you've found all the basic elements, J.

actually doc tamiya makes some tanks in 1/24 but ur crankin out 100 dollors or more for um. If your planin on getting one?
