Brizio Posted September 17, 2013 Author Posted September 17, 2013 Made a new exhaust (top), the bottom one is from the kit.
Brizio Posted September 18, 2013 Author Posted September 18, 2013 Some more progress. Not too much, but I put the engine in the chassis and after test the body on it. Looks that all is fitting good.
Erik Smith Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Nice work so far. You are making a neat kit a great model.

Brizio Posted September 20, 2013 Author Posted September 20, 2013 ere some more progress... Slowly slowly I do somethings on the model. The rear seat has an arm rest, but the kit did not offer it. Here the arm res and his space done. Fron arm rest and the little seat that goes between the front seat. The car was one of the few with 6 seats.
David G. Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 I think all vintage hard-to-find should be built in such a manner as this. You are certainly doing this kit justice. Excellent work! David G.
Tom Geiger Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 I think all vintage hard-to-find should be built in such a manner as this. that reminds me of a situation I saw in a club many years ago. There was a guy who was buying sealed $100+ desirable kits from a local dealer. He'd show up at the next meeting with that model built, totally glue bombed. The guy built like an 8 year old without supervision, and saw no problem with it. Guys in the club pleaded with the dealer not to sell him any more kits!
zelkam Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 I am pleasantly surprised to take a WIP on an old French car. The details are really perfect. A rare kit
Brizio Posted September 23, 2013 Author Posted September 23, 2013 whouw thats ... very very nice Thank you Richard! I think all vintage hard-to-find should be built in such a manner as this. You are certainly doing this kit justice. Excellent work! David G. Thank you David! I do all mi best for build it as better I can, and try to fix the kit issue.

The guy built like an 8 year old without supervision, and saw no problem with it. Guys in the club pleaded with the dealer not to sell him any more kits! I saw two similar situation in a hobby store in Italy years ago. A kid (probably 10) that wanted to buy a model kit, because on the box art it looks cool, and the guy on the store almost sold it, but when he ask a the kid if he needed glue/paint, the kid realized that was not a Lego, and you need glue/paint to build. So he left the kit and the store. The second time, a couple (mom/dad) were looking to buy two kits for theirs kids as Christmas gift. They were looking to buy some Tank model kit, ant they were saying "so they can build them and play" the guy a the store was supporting the idea too. I didn't. I ask them how old the kid where, and show them on the box that they were under the suggested age. Plus I told them that for build them you need glue, and maybe paint, because it doesn't look like the box art, and the piece need to be cut etc... I was buying a kit to, so I open the box and showed them how it was. A the end they tanked me for the help, they would have buy something wrong. The guy a the store was not very happy with me, I understand that he want $$$, but... I am pleasantly surprised to take a WIP on an old French car. The details are really perfect. A rare kit Glad you find the post Jean-Jacques! Thank you!
Brizio Posted September 25, 2013 Author Posted September 25, 2013 The seats are done now. And the front one are reclinable.
charlie8575 Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Excellent work on this so far. I wonder if the Renault 16 is the first car that we would call a hatchback by today's standards? I'll enjoy watching this come along. Charlie Larkin

Brizio Posted October 7, 2013 Author Posted October 7, 2013 Wouah! very rare kit for a very rare car (in France too) your work is very precise! cheers! Thank you DebaronFR! I start to work on the body, I though it was simple, but was not, all the doors need a lot of works for open and close correctly, what a pain... Tomorrow if I have time I will post pics.
crazyrichard Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 awsome seats , really digging this build , going to be a jewel !!
Brizio Posted October 8, 2013 Author Posted October 8, 2013 awsome seats , really digging this build , going to be a jewel !! Thank you Richard! Here for make fit the doors I had to cut and modify the window. It is still a job in progress... Also the rear door need to be modified...
Brizio Posted November 1, 2013 Author Posted November 1, 2013 Here more progress... Luckly I check before paint if the door works fine, because they required a lot of work. When closed they did not follow the body of the car, and when open they kind of fell down. Rear door fixed. Now it open and close better. Same work is required on the front door. Next thing to do is fill up the space for the front axle, so it looks more right. One of the two hinge for the hood. Here both glued in place.
Brizio Posted November 1, 2013 Author Posted November 1, 2013 Next thing I'm working on are the door. I did not like the door panel, so I will rebuild it. First step is to glue the stock door panel on the door. Second remove the arm rests... Third , sandpaper all the panel and seal it with putty, pretty much this is the door without the door panel. Soon the rest...
