Just hoping it's nice and warm here in the suburbs of Philadelphia for this holiday weekend. Preparing today for company coming on Sunday and staying over until Monday. Just got done shopping, bought plenty of beer and meats for the grill. Gonna make ribs and my own special wings, marinating up the chicken breasts and pork chops next! And we'll spend the days in our pool.

Now Harry we all know its cold in the summer and hot in the winter :)

Yes, but to truly understand the effect you have to be standing in Brisbane Australia!

I used to listen to Aussie radio stations. It was fun listening to their summer at the beach specials while we were under snow!

89 in the Mojave desert yesterday, 70% humidity, massive thunderstorms and flash flooding.

I believe Phoenix took a pounding as well.

I moved from Missouri to escape this.

Are you from Missouri aka misery

I thought only us truckers referred to there as Misery!!!!:lol::lol::lol:

You know you're from Missouri if:

You've ever worn shorts and a parka at the same time.

You can describe the sound of a tornado.

Tornado sirens sound and your first thought is BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH, I just washed the car.

The four seasons are nearly winter, winter, still winter, and road construction.

You have used the AC and heat in the same 24 hour period.

You have jumper cables and the spouse knows how to use them.

You have spent 30 minutes on the phone talking with a wrong number.

You mow the yard and find a car.

You like snow because it fills the potholes.

You drive through a blizzard for White Castles.

That applies to most of the midwest... Illinois, for sure.

Sounds like what I was familiar with in NE Ohio back in the day...when I lived in SE Michigan it was similar, but with less snow but more ice and more gray...

I actually have had to run the heat and the AC in the same day. It's crazy, especially in the "spring"... you can have one day with a high in the 70s or 80s and literally the next day a high in the 30s or 40s. The weather around here is very unsettled in the spring.

Yo Harry - I thought you were going to get out of Illinois?

Yeah I know.

Then I think about having to sell this house. And having to find a new house somewhere else. And all the hassle and paperwork involved. And getting all my stuff packed. And moving all that stuff, plus three cars. And setting up shop in a new location.

And then I think, man, that's a lot of work. So I'm still here...

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm...I haven't had freshly made White Castles since I left Long Island, NY almost 7 years ago. The frozen ones you can get in the supermarket are "OK", but there's nothing like a fresh sack of 10...!!! Belly Bombs..!!!

Rich, there are no White Castle restaurants here in Las Vegas at all. I ate some for the first time years last July after Papas funeral in Niles IL.

They finally built a Steak n Shake at the South Point Casino two years ago. The line is so long all the time I've yet to eat there.

Harry I've been in Vegas six years and still have unopened boxes. My middle son called me a few years ago and informed me he had books and reference material I forgot. I lived in one house for 24 years in South St Louis. I bought it when I was single and had just started on the PD. Let the second wife have that one and bought another. I lived in the second house 4 years and was amazed at what I had accumulated in such a short time.

All in all it was a huge pain in the arse, but well worth the hassle. I'm not super fond of Las Vegas, ex #3 picked this place, but I met my current wife here and my job is kinda cool.

G

Except monsoon season, we are currently experiencing rain and humidity that rivals the midwest.

They used to have a White Castle at 3rd and Fremont St. when I lived there...
