Tesla Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 (edited) I've been wanting to build one of these forklifts for my 40 foot Fruehauf flatbed. I have a few builds going on but would like to start obtaining parts now. Does anyone know who makes tires similar to these? The tire specifications are: Tire size 31" x 15.5" - 15" Tire outside diameter front/back 31" / 31" Edited September 13, 2013 by Tesla
ap40rocktruck Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 I would start in the toy isle of any K or W-MART or toy store in general. Carry a ruler Or at least note pad with a sketch & markings to check what you find. Also try the "farm" toys in Central tractor or Agway stores. Ap40

Check out dollar stores too, they often have cheap toys.

richcrabman Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 No probs,I'm sure they still make the kit.
doogie7046 Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Try looking at the Hot Wheels Monster trucks. My son broke one of his and I took the wheels and tires and although I never measured them they look to be about the right size.

Truck parts Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 What about tires for a radio control car or truck?
Casey Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 They look a lot like Goodyear Terra(?) tires used on monster trucks, so maybe a 1/32 scale USA-1 kit from AMT could supply the tires for the forklift?
Steve Prideaux Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 The Modelhaus, lists a set of Good-Year Terra tires. 34x15.5x15 I'm not sure what scale 1/25 or 1/24. Item # T-710 Steve Prideaux
Tesla Posted September 17, 2013 Author Posted September 17, 2013 Here's a site that provides scale reference and pictures for offroad model tires. Great info here! http://www.magazinepublisher.com/models/tires/tires.html
