ERIK88 Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 (edited) I just wanted to say that this store is very fair with prices, I have been going here since I was 12. I have been treated with exceptional customer support. I will be buying 2 MPC 79 MC class action's in a few weeks. Has anyone ever shopped here? Highly reccommended. Really good fair prices, they are not out of their mind like Hobbytown USA lol jk lol Edited September 22, 2013 by ERIK88
mikemodeler Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Before I moved south 8 years ago, this was one of my "go to" places. Can't remember walking out of there without SOMETHING, ever! It really is a throwback to the old days of the LHS, I wish there was more places like this. The fact they have such a large selection and friendly people working there has a lot to do with why they are still in business.
The70judgeman Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 (edited) I'll second that. Alex and the rest of the family are great people. They're prices are actually $3-$5 cheaper than most places. It's where I've been buying most of my kits over the last 20 years or so. They also have an online catalog, a yearly paper catalog, sell on Ebay and Amazon too. www.modelempireusa.com Edited September 22, 2013 by The70judgeman

High octane Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 It is my FAVORITE hobby shop with Greenfield News & Hobby runnin' second. I don't get up there often though as the high price of gas is too much and it's about 50 miles one way for me.
ERIK88 Posted September 22, 2013 Author Posted September 22, 2013 Cool yea I've been to news and hobby as well . Good store a lil pricier than model empire, but still good. Tom Geiger Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Alex is a good guy, never mind that we both have the same last name. We aren't related. I've never been to the store, but Model Empire is one of our annual NNL East vendors. They've been coming with Jimmy Flintstone for years.

JordanFordF1 Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 A question for any of you close enough to stop in Model Empire, what has happened to their catalog? Got a notice in the mail early in the year that the catalog would be late, around June of this year. Here it is almost Oct and no catalog. Hope I didn't get left off the list after all I've spent with them. Thank you.

Dave Van Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 In the pre internet days I dealt with Alex a bunch. We bought maybe 150 of his generic Monogram Thunderbird NASCAR kits and he carried our decals. I always stopped by at Toledo to talk a bit....but not been to Toledo in 3 years now......

I may be going there this Friday, I can check and get back to you this weekend. Or, you can just call them.
