Gothic Kustomz Posted October 7, 2013 Author Posted October 7, 2013 WOW! DrKerry, ya cant tell what it started as, one heck of a bash job there man. Kennyboy, I kinda see it, like ya said it's still rough, good start tho.
DrKerry Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Hey Ken the pic didn't show yesterday. Looking good so far. I notice the rear quarter above the wheel opening has a bit of a hip to it where-as the Ferrari quarter is more flat. Thanks Mike!!!!!
Kennyboy Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 (edited) Hey Ken the pic didn't show yesterday. Looking good so far. I notice the rear quarter above the wheel opening has a bit of a hip to it where-as the Ferrari quarter is more flat. Yeah Kerry you are right. I have been grappling with that one all weekend on how to fix it without weakening the body in the rear quarters. Will probably end up fixing it with filler in the end. Where I am at today........... Jordan White Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 It looks like if you raise the beltline along the top of the door and rear quarter under the window, it would line up with the hood and rear fender like the picture.
DrKerry Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 It looks like if you raise the beltline along the top of the door and rear quarter under the window, it would line up with the hood and rear fender like the picture. I agree, level off the top of the door it would come up enough....
Kennyboy Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Thanks for the idea Jordan, that is what I will do. It does make sense.
Gothic Kustomz Posted October 8, 2013 Author Posted October 8, 2013 some really great stuff going on here guys, really great stuff, keep it going, no mercy!
Kennyboy Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Looks awesome Ken, simply awesome!!!! Thank you Kerry! Could not have done it without the car bodies.

BKcustoms Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Everyone's projects are looking great! I'll be done with my current Corvette project in a week or two and work will continue on the Henry J soon after.
DrKerry Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Thank you Kerry! Could not have done it without the car bodies. Hey not a prob. As you could tell I wasn't doing much with them anyway. If it can help someone out then it's worth it.... Besdies this is lookin to danged kool!!!!!!!
DrKerry Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 I'm hoping to get some pics up this weekend. Been making some progress with it on break at work. I'm working on the rear brake vents in the rear quarters right now. Nothing much to see so it won't matter much on update pics. Just working on tedious fit and trim issues..... Have the new chassis mocked up a little too.
Kennyboy Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Cool, looking forward to seeing it Kerry. I will also try to put up pictures soon. Fixed the beltline, made the rounded fronts for the fenders, and filled both sides complete. It is now a sturdy body (without the roof.......for now.)
DrKerry Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Kool beans, Oh got word from Jimmy, he said as long as it's straight, no problem on casting it!!!!! Now you all know!!!
Kennyboy Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 That is great news Kerry! It will be straight check it out (gotta sand it tonight!) Today's update of progress: And just for a good laugh......! Last week's "progress"
Gothic Kustomz Posted October 11, 2013 Author Posted October 11, 2013 What the????? wow olasy weeks progress, looks like ya might of dumped in the putty bucket, LOL, coming together nicely, Kennyboy.
Jordan White Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Well I finally got the kit in the mail today, so I should be able to start on it this weekend.
DrKerry Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 Sounds good Jordan, can't wait to see the build begin. Looks good Ken, don't forget to oil your elbow from time to time!!!! LOL
kratvmnd Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 OK,finally got a starting point. This is an Aoshima Nissan Cedric/Gloria 330. This is a curbside kit with a basic chassis,I may end up swapping to a different chassis so it can be more detailed(?). Pretty nice kit other than that... ...now,here's where I throw you off a little, some mis-wired part of my brain has always thought these would lend themselves well to being built as a '60s style custom. Mild top chop, maybe a slight section, shaved moldings and emblems,tuck-n-roll interior, new trim, reworked front and rear grills/bumpers/lights,topped off with a satin/suede paint job and some whitewalls. I'm not sure yet if it will be "period correct" or more of a modern/retro look. Anyway, here's what I'm starting with-let the fun begin!
DrKerry Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Wow, and I thought I had a dimented brain!!!!!!!! This guy fits in around here!!!!! LOL Can't wait to see it come together Albert!!!!
