Porscheman Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 (edited) This one came in the mail yesterday. It was a gold promo that need to be restored. I thought Testor's Root Beer would be the perfect color. I also added 4 coats of Testor's Wet Look Clear. Also tinted the windows with Tamiya's Clear Blue. BMF and The Detailer Black Wash to complete the look. Hope you like it. Al Edited October 6, 2013 by Porscheman
Porscheman Posted October 6, 2013 Author Posted October 6, 2013 Thanks Rob and Lee. The are great models with a little paint, BMF and extra detail.
Jon Cole Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Al, you have another winner there. I really like how you give the glass just the right amount of tint. Is that right out of the spray can?
Porscheman Posted October 6, 2013 Author Posted October 6, 2013 Al, you have another winner there. I really like how you give the glass just the right amount of tint. Is that right out of the spray can? Jon, I only use spray cans. This easiest way to do the tint is to spray one light coat from right to left and one back again and your done. Always spray the inside of the glass. Hope this helps. Al
chachie Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 came here to see an El Dorado, left wanting a root beer float

cobraman Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Looks great Al. Don't know how you can do such good work in such a short time.
Porscheman Posted October 7, 2013 Author Posted October 7, 2013 (edited) I'm like a machine I painted all coats of paint and clear in under 3 minutes. After the painting it I just can't stop. It's a sickness. Edited October 7, 2013 by Porscheman
realgone58 Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Yesterday? You are one fast worker! I've had one of these for several months now and haven't started on it yet! One of these days......
peekay Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Such nice paint and foil, everything just right, all in 24 hours - amazing!
Ramfins59 Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 You've got another winner there Al. You really are a fast worker.
cobraman Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Wait a minute Al. You paint all coats of paint in under 3 minutes ????? Thats amazing. Most of us take days at least to do a body. You must have the color in one hand and the clear in the other one. No matter how long it takes you they always look great.
dimaxion Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Wowser . I don't go here much . The name caught my eye . She's a beauty . I takes me months to paint a Model . I did a restoration , clean up , detail out on an Orange '73 Dro . I took me a week to coax back the Firemist Red paint and final wax it . It was in a smoking enviroment . You sir are a Craftsman . It looks quite 1:1 . Just right and I want one like it . This is why we build models IMHO . . Thanx ..
jeffs396 Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Super nice as usual Al And the speed at which you finish such quality work...WOW!
