Ajay Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 (edited) Didn't post any in progress pics of this one through sheer laziness ! & I appreciate it won't be too everybodies taste - it's the Aoshima Car Boutique Club kit with the following additions : AE101 engine from their Initial D kit C/F hood & dash Tamiya racing seat plus harness Aoshima Longchamp XR-4's with stretchwall tyres. Fujimi metal exhaust The colour is Zero pearl white although you wouldn't guess it due to the dull weather. Thanks for looking Andy Edited November 11, 2007 by Ajay
ajulia Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Hello there! Jus wanted to say that is one badd build and it brings alot of fond memories. my cousin had one with a pearl white body and sky blue detail/trimmin' w 13" low-pros. Your stance is awesome . Keep on wit the keepin on!!! Peace AJulia
Nick F40 Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Nice, this is probably one of my favorites in the drift world and you nailed it. The paint is flawless and the carbon fiber is perfect. I also love the wheels. It almost looks like those Yokomo Drift cars. Is the carbon fiber Scale Motorsports and what weave is it or what was its classification?
Brendan Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Very nice build. Was wondering...Did the kit come with the hood with the vent and the side skirts? Or did you make those yourself? This is one of my favorite cars.
Ajay Posted November 11, 2007 Author Posted November 11, 2007 Thanks for the replies guys Nick - the CF decal's Scale Motorsports Twill Weave Black on Pewter (SKU: 1024) Brendan - I took the easy way out ! - the kit includes hood, sideskirts, front/rear bumpers http://www.hlj.com/product/AOS03986 Cheers Andy
crispy Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Andy, That is sweet! Pearl White, my favorite! The CF hood too me just screams power. The raw CF look really adds to the model. Thanks for sharing. Chris
James W Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Great build up of a nice looking kit. I have a soft spot for those since I test drove a pair of them back-in-the-day. (can you say that about the 80's?)
cruz Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Very nice job on this one Andy, I love these cars also...................
Ajay Posted November 14, 2007 Author Posted November 14, 2007 Thanks for the replies guys regards Andy
Gray Smith Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Excellent build as usual Ajay, I will always love the ole 'eight-six'.. I spent many hours watching Initial D back when it first came out which helped in my fondness for these cars. Keep up the great work on your next build... Gray
