Bluemiles22 Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 First time posting on here in a while, finally got this one finished tonight. 62 bel air kit from amt, painted with testors enamel. Enjoy thanks for looking!
Harry P. Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Looks pretty good, but a factory stock car would have a rear-view mirror.
Bluemiles22 Posted October 15, 2013 Author Posted October 15, 2013 Lol didn't even realize I left it off. Gonna have to put it on.
Danno Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Looks pretty good, but a factory stock car would have a rear-view mirror. Interior, yes. Side mounted, not necessarily. They were still optional in '62.
Sixties Sam Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Very nice! Great finish and engine detail. Sam
Harry P. Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Interior, yes. Side mounted, not necessarily. They were still optional in '62. I know. Notice I said mirror. Singular.
Danno Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 I know. Notice I said mirror. Singular. I know you knew. Notice I said . . . ah, heck. Forget it.
Harry P. Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 I know you knew. Notice I said . . . ah, heck. Forget it. Aw heck, I know you knew I know. Ya know?
Erik Smith Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 That's a nice model. Great job. Did the AMT kits come with side view mirrors? I don't recall having built it some 20 years ago... Nice paint!
slusher Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Super nice build. Very nice paint and foil...
MyBradKeselowski Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Everything looks excellent to me: color, paint, engine/details and interior. Flawless ! ! !
Bluemiles22 Posted October 15, 2013 Author Posted October 15, 2013 Thanks for the kind compliments guys, very much appreciated! The kit did come with the mirror, although I'm having a hard time finding it. As far as the color I'm pretty sure it's a mix of Pontiac engine blue mixed with something a little darker, I painted the body last march so it's tough to remember. I'll get some outdoor shots today, I noticed some of my pictures are pretty blurry.
B.DougBeck Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Movie cars do not have rear view mirrors.....
the goon Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Very nice Outdoor shots are much better. Mark
Cato Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Very nice period build-Mirror Police not withstanding. Not a criticism but a question-did those Holleys come in the kit? I'm fairly sure 409's of the day used Carter AFB's.
Bluemiles22 Posted October 15, 2013 Author Posted October 15, 2013 No those are aftermarket, I wasn't too crazy about the ones in the kit.
Shardik Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 That is very nice. Not withstanding the fact that I'm very biased about anything with a 409. Speaking of which; I hate to keep sending you outside, but could we see a clearer shot of that beautiful 'W' ? The detailing looks nice even in the semi-fuzzy shots.
