I'm trying to replicate my dads 72 4dr chevelle he ran when he was 20 in 77 . I'm doing my best it's by no means perfect but it's better then nothing . I'm starting with amts 72 chevelle ss . i got the body converted to 4dr and painted . i plan to add the wing window frame but sense its chrome i can get away with putting it in after and foiling it. . here's is pics of his car in 77 and what Ive done so far .

Thanks guys this is my first time ever trying somthing this complex . The color is a plasikoat no clue the name . But it's the closest I could come to getting gulf green without buying a 25 dollar can off the web

looks great so far, great job on adding 2 more doors. my first real car [as in something I really drove, at 17] was a 71 chevelle 2 door in about the same color with an antique jade green interior and vinyl top. boy I miss that car...

Nice job making the sedan body. You did remember to stretch it out? The 4-doors had a longer wheelbase (116" vs. 112" for the coupes).

Even if you didn't, that's very clean body work.

If you did, how much arm-twisting would it take for you to do it again and send it to a resin-caster? Greg Wann, D.R.A.G. and possibly The Modelhaus may all be interested in that.

I can see police, taxi and grocery-getters all being built.

I didn't stretch the body but I have two more shells I could try to . This is my first time trying anything like this. I thank you for ur complement tho. Charlie how much would I have to add to my stock length to make it proper. I'm not good figuring out scale inches and what not.

Your off to a great start I got a real 72 chevelle 4 door in my Garage im working on ,I like your ideal of making a 4 door I think I need to try to make 1 of my chevelle

1 foot in 1/25= 0.46875", or 15/32".

Divide that by 3 (4/12=3, or 1/3 of one foot).

That would be 5/32", or JUST over 1/8".

It might not sound like a lot, but it's noticeable when you put the bodies next to each other.

One other quick conversion: 1"=0.040" in 1/25 scale.

To make the stretch accurate, you should place it right behind the back seat, as the extra space went into the rear seat area. I would suggest assembling the interior tub, body and floor/frame together (without gluing), mark up the cuts and then saw everything in one unit. Fill the gaps with prorperly-sized Evergreen or Plastruct.

Not 100% sure of yourself? Transfer the profile of the body to a piece of foamcore by tracing. Laminate a few pieces together to make it more "body-like" and practice on that first.

Hey Shane, as far as I know no one makes a stock hood or stack grill. The grill is not a big deal, but the hood is tougher I used the Chevelle SS hood and cut the hump out and the used a Monogram Buick GSX Street machine hood without the hole. This worked good for me. Great job by the way.

Thanks guys. It was a lill slow this week . Had a death in the family and just been a slow build time . I did work on the motor trying to replicate his 396 which was painted red.
