Agent G Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Here's what I have been working on recently. I started this in keeping with the mood of season. This is the ancient Polar Lights kit that has been lying untouched for at least 10 years. The fit was so bad the horse and rider are at least 30% styrene rod and putty. I believe this was a snap kit in it's first iteration. The kit cape and cowl were huge thick moldings that I just didn't like. A few minutes with a wood dowel and some pie tin aluminum gave me a viable alternative. G
Agent G Posted October 29, 2013 Author Posted October 29, 2013 I needed to spread this out a bit. Pumpkins were airbrushed three colors of Tamiya, Orange, Red and Yellow. Detail painting has commenced. G
Danno Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 (edited) Whoa! Very nice, G! You are sooo multicultural! Me, I just stick to cars and trucks. And ONE boat. Edited October 29, 2013 by Danno
george 53 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Whats in his upraised hand? we can't see it, and I don't ever remember seein this as a Polar lights kit. Is it an old Aurora repop?
Agent G Posted October 29, 2013 Author Posted October 29, 2013 (edited) Thank you all! Danno I've been accused of being a a lot of things, but multicultural is a first! George as of now nothing is in his hand. It will be a battleaxe though when the paint dries. This is the Polar Lights repop retooled to represent the horseman in the '99 Tim Burton movie. mustang1989 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I'll be checking this out when I get home and can view pics. This stupid Barracuda web filter here at work won't let me view anything. I don't know how I'm even able to view avatars!!

mustang1989 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 (edited) Now this is raw talent!!! This is modeling at its best right here! Figure painting takes a lot of skill to get the shades and blending of paint, shadows and make it all look realistic. I'm Liking the paint, the theme, the imagination and skill required to put something like this together and make it look this good. Awesome work Wayne!!! You da man!!! Edward Gore Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Very well done esp the mods to the cape. Where are the jack-o-lanterns from, the kit?
Agent G Posted October 30, 2013 Author Posted October 30, 2013 Thanks guys! This one has been a lot of fun to paint. Ed the pumpkins are from the kit. G
Agent G Posted November 5, 2013 Author Posted November 5, 2013 Ok well, he wasn't quite done for Halloween as my health issues interfered again. I also took a nice road trip to Phoenix, Arizona with my wife and grandchildren Saturday for the local IPMS show. Good times but the horseman sat at home unfinished. Good news, I had the morning to myself so he rides again! G
Danno Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 That look like how I felt Sunday morning! Awesome modeling, G. Your range is impressive, my friend.
Edward Gore Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 wow, very nice face painting. You've captured a classic subject and story perfectly
