59 Impala Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 I'm restoring this 67 Vette from one that I started to build back in the 80's. It's one of the Streeker Vette kits. The Lime Gold one on the right is the one that I'm rebuilding. As you can see, it sets a little lower than the Blue one. It took a lot of grinding on the chassis and the interior to get it lower. I also cut out the fenders front and rear. Here you can see it after stripping the paint off. I also had to scribe the door openings because the lines were kinda faint. Here you can see the putty that I had to add to the rear end. The body has a lot of sink marks on it and had to be filled. I'll post some more pics of the work being done. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
slusher Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Looking forward to your rebuild, very nice start...

Here are some pics of how she looks now. I'm getting close to getting er done. I'm not going to install the bumpers on this build. For one reason is that I don't have them. I have no clue of what happened to them. Dan

charlie8575 Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Very nice work, Brother. What did you use for the exterior color? Charlie Larkin
slusher Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Great work so far. Build is really coming along...
59 Impala Posted November 20, 2013 Author Posted November 20, 2013 Thanks a lot guys and Charlie, the color is one that I mixed up. I used Testors Bronze, Copper, a little Ruby Red and a little Brown to come up with my Rootbeer, sorta. I tried to come close to Testors Rootbeer using their enamels. Their Rootbeer is a lacquer and I like using the enamels and wanted to see if I could come close in color. I like the results. Dan
Bob Ellis Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 I have that kit too. Now I want to build it.
mikelo Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 I like the color, and the interior color goes really nice with it. What are those wheels from? Mike
geemoney Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 looks nice, that interior is excellent! love those mpc tires!
59 Impala Posted November 21, 2013 Author Posted November 21, 2013 Thanks guys. Mike L., those wheels came in the kit. I like those tires also Mike N. Two Mikes at the same time. :) Dan
59 Impala Posted November 29, 2013 Author Posted November 29, 2013 I finally got er done. Here are some pics of how she looks now. I hope ya like it. I couldn't use the headers from the kit because of the big block so I used the manifolds from a 409 and made the curved pipes to meet up with the side pipes. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
