I was excited to see Aoshima's pre-production shots of this car and was eagerly awaiting the release...the wait is over!

From what I know this is an all new tool - there are two versions, this being the "Standard 200" version - a base model car. My fav. A base model, four door, early 80s car.

It is beautifully molded - crisp, clean, smooth. Only issue I see are the panel lines are a little light.

Notice - the hood is not molded in even though it is a curbside - there is NO ENGINE.

Excellent molding throughout the body with very faint mold lines - Revell needs to figure out who molds this stuff!!!

Awesome steel wheels with open holes! Best part? Dog dish caps!!! Absolutely beautiful, flawless chrome!

Great chrome - notice the delicate side view mirrors.

Interior - again, molding is fantastic.

Tires. Look like the old Satco tires a bit, but good looking tread. Raised letters are a little big.

And a nice decal sheet.

This kit looks very nice. Very very nice. This will get bumped up the "to build" line for sure.

Other kit makers need to take note of Aoshima's quality here - there is basically no flash on this kit. Mold lines are faint. Chrome is probably the cleanest I have ever seen - and great attachment points on chrome parts too.

Nice..choice of floor shift w/ buckets and column shift w/ bench? 2 steering wheel choices, I see...I have one on backorder along w/ a couple different related Cedrics. I think mine of this will look good in brown w/ a beige interior...

Makes me think of a possible unmarked cop car from a 'Seibu Keisatsu' episode.

Pedal sets for both auto and manual too.

I am going with a mustard yellow...

The hood is molded separately because the Cedric uses a slightly different one. That allowed them to get two cars out of the same body mold. Brilliance all the way around, by actually planning out the kits properly they were able to issue two trim levels of the vehicle at the same time simply by molding the variances in the trim separately and not requiring an entirely separate body tool for the Cedric.

I notice there are two sets of the lighting elements on the clear tree also...some Gloria and Cedric parts in the same kit?

Yeah the top right half (square lights) are the Cedric specific clear parts. Looks like everything is just run on one clear runner, than trying to break it up into a glass runner and small light runner.

Re the separate hood with no engine.I have the opposite situation with a Fujimi Datsun Fairlady ZG kit.It has a complete engine but the hood is molded to the body.Strange.

This would nice parked on my Fuso Auto Hauler. I'm doing a vintage car sales and restoration company. The truck will have a load of vintage JDM cars on it.

That sounds like a cool idea

In addition to the hood, you'd need the replacement "A", "E" & "J" trees. Which are the first black runner with the steelies and front end parts, and the two chrome runners. Those three trees are different - entirely different wheels.
