slusher Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Very very nice build Scott. Real nice touch on the 6cyl. Where did you get the 6cyl??
Porscheman Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Very nicely done!!! Great color! What is it?
PappyD340 Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Real NICE mustang Scott, i really like the look!!
ToyLvr Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Yeah, love it! Use to have a 1:1 Mustang with the old inline 200. Nice to see on in scale. Please share more info about he build.
webestang Posted November 9, 2013 Author Posted November 9, 2013 Thanks guys! I used the 67 GT kit and left it 5-lug, like an upgrade for Fox body's, 6 banger's in the sixes were 4-lug. Custom exhaust, all the wires, hoses are from a VCR. The tires I bought at a show and the wheels from my parts box. Color is Tester's 50's Aqua rattle can, it's the closest I could find to Seafoam Green. The 6-banger is from Perry's resin. I believe it is from the Maverick promo model 200 cid.
Erik Smith Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 (edited) Great looking model. I like the 6 and the custom exhaust. Cool color too. I also like the black wheels with the whitewall tires. Edited November 9, 2013 by Erik Smith
lizardlust Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 One of my favorite builds of yours, Scott! It reminds me of my sister's '68 coupe with a 200 and a 3 speed - a good little runner!! They ALL didn't come with 289s or 390s.....
Sixties Sam Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Very nice! I like the six-banger! I put a Ken Kitchen resin six in an AMT 66 coupe a while back. It's fun to make a low line pony car once in a while.
realgone58 Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 I really like the look of this, from the color right to the tires. Six is awesome! Very cool build.
Guest Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 Very nice and cool! Just a couple of things, your plug wires and battery cables are a bit oversize.
Harry P. Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 That's an unusual looking Mustang. It's definitely different! BTW... I doubt the washer fluid bag would have been body color... And I agree with Lee that your cables and wiring are definitely on the hefty side. Do a google image search and you'll get a better idea of how those battery cables and ignition wires should look (for your next model). One more suggestion... after you apply foil, you need to burnish it down to get rid of all the wrinkles.
Ford guy Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 Kinda cool Scotty! I think I knew that car back about 35 years ago, saw it cruising around Indiana, no wait, that one was full of rust! LOL Nice job dude!
webestang Posted November 10, 2013 Author Posted November 10, 2013 Thanks again guys! I do have one more of those resin sixes.......just haven't thought up a project yet.......
Tom Geiger Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 Cool build of an old mainstreamer! History has gotten a bit foggy, but there were a lot of 6 cylinder Mustangs and Camaros back in the day. Guys who couldn't afford a V8 would buy them and still do the visible hop ups like adding nice wheels, blacking out the hood, adding a hood scoop and jacking up the rear. Hey, we ran what we could, but tried to do it in style. My buddy Mark had a white 1966 Mustang coupe with a six and three speed manual on the floor back in 1976. It was the most basic Mustang of that year, with manual everything and the four lug wheels. We drove the wheels off of that one, and had some great adventures / mis-adventures only as 17 year olds could, in that car. I do have a Ford six resin copy (I believe from MCW) that I built complete for another build, then went another way with that model... do I feel a model coming on??
