Southern Fried Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Lookin' Good! A little info if I may...the early Caddy's used a siamesed center exhaust port for the center cylinders. The headers would look like a v-6.
plastikjunkie2 Posted November 13, 2013 Author Posted November 13, 2013 thanks guys.. s.fried yeah i just noticed that as you pointed it out , i just wasn't feeling the headers in the revell parts pack for this engine. there actually from the tony navy dragster
RadialDragon Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Just a tip for the caddy headers.. some pieces of .062 round rod (maybe .040 if you want a little smaller runners) and some of these..
Ace-Garageguy Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Now that someone's already brought it up, and for future reference, the ONLY American V8 engine that has exhaust-port spacing like your first version is the "nailhead" Buick. The nailheads also have other immediately recognizable characteristics, so if you're going for engine accuracy, it pays to research. The "tony navy" dragster you mention (actually Tony Nancy, a very famous hot-rod upholsterer and drag racer) has a Buick nailhead engine, accounting for the unusual port spacing.
zaina Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Likin this one a lot!!! Gives me a great idea for a future build.
plastikjunkie2 Posted November 13, 2013 Author Posted November 13, 2013 yeah not really going for accuracy as I don't know all the specifics . and it's this wonderful auto correct when I tried to spell nancy.
Dinky Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Very cool Erich, i like your builds and this one will also be great like the others!
RocknRolla Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Loving the look of this, nice work so far !
