  1. Can I get some volunteers? 2 or 3 should do it... This topic would be so much better if we were able to list them by motor... I'll go through and find all the Ford/Lincoln/Mercury motors listed and put them in order By CI on the first page. If I could get some people for the other manufacturers to group them in a similar manner and post them here or PM them to me I will then Edit the Original Post with all the details
  2. Super Clean in a purple bottle. Works great, use in ventilated area...
  3. The way the headers are I would assume Big Block Chevy...
  4. This is ideally what I would like to do. Would need help though for sure..
  5. Found a link with all kinds of different Dual carb Plumbing pictures... These are real life set ups.. http://www.yellowbullet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=429944
  6. The point of this thread was to post Kits that we could get good quality 1/25 and 1/24 motors from. Basically this is all about knowing where you can find certain motors etc..
  7. Must be some tuff starch for the shirt. Wind doesn't effect it much !!
  8. Do they exist? What CI is the motor based on? Would the intake be compatible with 302CI or 351 CI ford engine from other models? I have looked for a Ford Stock car engine but only seem to be able to find GM and Dodge Based engines...
  9. Was thinking we could get an engine source list going. The idea is to post actual Models that are worth their price just for the engines. Some resin engine kits can be pricey and sometimes cost even more then an entire model. What kits are a good option for a hot motor with good detail? This could help other modelers like me that have been out of the scene for a while... Whenever a new suggestion is posted I will update the list One model I have found to fit the drag racing type builds is the 'Revell' "1955 Jukebox Ford" kit. You can build the motor as either the Ford or Chevy version ( has 2 different intake manifolds) and the detail and fit and finish of the engine impressed me.. 10. Congrats on getting your answer.. Not to steal the thread, but what motor is in these kits and is it of good quality?
  11. I have Both the Stealth and the Berreta GTU which also has a small turbo kit.. Maybe you have something I want? LOL As far as the Berreta is concerned I have the entire kit. The only thing that was ever takin from the box was the body and it was only primed... The tree with the turbo is still sealed.. Here are pictures.. Oh YEAH!! American Muscle !! Box art of engine (Turbo position) The turbo itself.. Whole kit Now for the stealth LOL.. I must have attacked this kit when I was a kid because random parts are colored, parts are missing and so is the body lol. However This kit was "Twin Turbo" and both turbo's are connected to the parts tree still... Hope this helps.. If your going the Stealth route both turbo's seem to be decent detail quality and there are two per kit. However the Beretta Turbo IMO is a little better detail but is chromed... Good luck in your search ! !
  12. Made some progress today.. Would have gotten more done if my order of .062 rod had came in on Friday.. Untill I get that I will have no chassis .. Anyway, here are some pictures of the engine in its current state. Still need to run the Distributor wires and of course the fuel lines and etc once it is in the car.. Enjoy and let me know what you think.. Colors used are Flat black (Carb Bowls), Steel (Carb Body), Aluminum (Transmission, Intake), Silver (Motor Plate, Carb Accents, Heads), gold (Carb Metering blocks) Ford Engine Light Blue (Engine Block) This is the 429 Based Big Block from the 1955 Ford Jukebox Ford. Comments about this engine.. This is probably the best detailed engine I have seen in a long while in a model Kit. Not only that but everything fits up very nicely. Usually the heads and intake manifold don't fit together in a believable manner but on this engine they do and I like that a lot.. The ONLY gripe I have about this kit is that even though there are 2 different intake manifolds to distinguish from Ford and Chevy (See Tyrone's 90 Mustang build for the chevy intake). The only thing that differentiates them is the intake runner positions. The Distributor is in the back on both of the intakes and the Ford distributor should be in the front on this motor... Other than that this motor is worth buying the kit for... So far I am very happy with it..
  13. Thanks to you guys for posting. Appreciate it.. lets see some more !!
  14. These aren't finished yet but they are as simple as it gets.. Carburetors are the ones supplied in the 55 Jukebox Sportsman model.. First I got a fine tip brush and painted the inner bowls "Flat black", then I painted the whole carburetor "Steel" Then I rolled a Q-tip around the inner edge of the "silver" paint container and then rolled the Q-Tip across the top of the carb only coloring the raised areas around the top of the carburetor as well as the floats... Next I plan to paint the Metering blocks a "zinc" or "Goldish" color as well as plumb it.. just wanted to post this to show how simple it can really be to add detail to a nicely molded piece..
  15. Will Do !! Here is some of what I did today. had some company come over so didn't make a lot of progress... Should get quite a bit done tomorrow though .. please let me know what you think.. Yes the carbs will be plumbed.. Here is the duel Carburetor set up sitting on the intake.. Colors on the carburetor is Black, Steel and silver.. The intake is Aluminum.. They are not done, I am still going to paint the Metering blocks to make it pop a little more.. Thinking a goldish color or whatever color I can find that matches the carbs I have seen IRL.. Also still need to do some touch up/second coat on the intake manifold.. this was just for photo's for progress of the thread
  16. OK so cleaned all the paint off with Superclean, But when I was scrubbing off the paint (Wasn't scrubbing hard) The front windshield supports Top and left side broke clean off. I was being gentle but I guess with the body being as old as it is it became brittle over the years. Plus the previous builder used gobs of glue and that may have weakened it further... Sooooo. Not wanting to deal with rebuilding the front window frame I am shelfing that project for now. however I am still doing all the same things but with a different body. New body is a 1969 Mustang.. Stay tuned for pics..
  17. Please type under the quote box next time .. 30mph LOL. If you have scrolled down a little past the post you quoted you would have seen the link to the Article about the car in the LSTech and saw that it is mentioned there as well.. I know the guy, cruises normal speeds 60-70 MPH....What a joke, I'm not even going to bother to argue with you anymore as you are clearly clueless .
  18. A Good dual Boost set up that you will sometimes see on the 03-04 Cobra's is made by Hellian. Hellian "Hellraiser" Twin turbo with Supercharger..
  19. Here is the article about the car from "LSX TV" http://www.lsxtv.com/features/car-features/video-stock-4-8l-short-block-pushes-71-datsun-into-the-8s/ Now with this said, the only reason I know about it is because the guy is a friend of mine. Other than that I am a true Ford fan. So don't think I am one of those LS fan boys. The motors 4.8 and 5.3L LS series engines) Are amazing to say the least.. Enjoy the article.. Scroll down to see the gas mileage on the car. The entire build for the car is mentioned and it has been replicated time and time again since it is soo effective.. most people go with a 3speed auto instead of a trans with an overdrive. But he drives this car regularly so he went with the better option for MPG.. The car is beautiful and I hope you guys enjoy the pictures and info.. Sorry to hi jack or get off topic, but I didn't appreciate being called a liar
  20. LMAO!! I know this guy it isn't just some video I posted on here that I found.. Secondly, your wifes rav 4 weighs a lot more than 3,000 lbs. Listen.. It is a 200R4 Transmission which gives hime 3 great gear ratio's for the 1/4 and an 4th gear which is an overdrive which allows him to cruise at a low RPM.. A stock 4.8 in a full sized chevy Silverado (4,600lb truck) gets 19MPG. The C5 Corvette which is the 5.7L version of this motor (LS1) gets 30 MPG on the highway. If you watch the video he even states he got 28 MPG. If it is soo hard for you to believe read the magazine articles about the car.. Also I will try to get him on here so he can tell you himself .. Not sure why it is soo hard to believe it isn't a radical build. Stock bottom end 4.8 L LS motor, with an LS6 Cam (Stock cam for the C6 Corvettes) Texas speed heads ( Worked over LS type design heads), FAST Intake manifold and a Precision 74MM Turbo. 700WHP now a days really isn't eye popping and there are A LOT of cars making that power. Things have progressed sir and this isn't a Carbureted 350 from 1968 with a huge cam, quadra Jet and Tunnel ram that gets horrible gas mileage LOL.. If I were you I would research before I try to call someone a liar
