Hello I just recently purchased a Star Models 37 Ford humpback 2 dr sedan. Very happy with model and very quick shipping time. I would like to build this stock and was wondering which would be the best donor kit to use? Thanks . Gene

The only kits of a '37 Ford are all 1/24 scale Revell/Monogram. Likely the Monogram sedan kit would be the best for this project. The problem is, these kits are all street rods. The chassis/engines are not even close to stock. So, the engine and chassis from the Revell '40 Ford pick-up might get you close to the right drivetrain. And I've no idea where to obtain the stock wheels.

The 1/25 Scale AMT '36 Ford will work if it is 1/25 scale . IIRC , this is a 1/25 scale casting . The Revelle 1/25 Scale '37 Ford Pick up or Panel truck will work . Tghe Running gear , cahssis are trhe same at Ford these years . The Wheels / Tires / Hub Caps are the same '36 - '39 MY's . The seats , door and Interior trim you have to scratch build . The dash , you will have to do some rerearch . Steering wheel is mosy probably the same as the Truck version . Once again , research is required . 1/24 Scale leaves you only the '37 monograms . The chassis , interior , wheels , tires , Hub Caps , chassis and Stock Flathead Running gear . I cannot come up with a source . If you need information , don't hesitate to PM me . Thanx ..

Looking at Hendrix's page, it appears all their '37 Fords are based on the 1/24 scale Monogram/Revell kit, and the '37 Coupe is pictured with a few of the resin bodies, so a totally stock 1/24 scale version is going to take a lot of work, but I bet the old Monogram '36 Ford kit could provide many of the stock parts:

You are right Casey . When the first '37 Ford Sedan hit the Market , a close friend in a Hobby Shop promised me the parts from a Monogram '36 Ford Kit for the Stock parts . Si , I relented and bought it . I finally traded this off this year for something I would build . The '36 Ford was 10 years off the Market then . It did not occur to me to consider this kit for 1/24 scale when I did that Post . Thanx , Casey

Hello What is the best donor kit to use in building a stock 37 ford 2 door humpback kit? Any help would be apperciated. Thanks all. Gene Shatrowsky

Any Monagram 1;24 scale 1937 Ford Kit will do it but preferably the fatback sedan version if you can get it. The reason being that the interior panels will match up perfectly, otherwise you should be able to modify the panels from the cabriolet or coupe versions.

For a stock chassis & driveline the Revell '37 Ford pickup is a good donor. The scale difference works in your favor on this swap with the longer truck chassis being just about right for the cars.
