It was a beautiful weekend at GoodGuys Southwest Nationals in Scottsdale!! Perfectly clear to partly cloudy with 3,000 metalflake and flamed rods, customs, and cruizers shining everywhere. Not to mention hundreds of amazing model cars!

:)

Oh, yeah. There were some Thunderbolts, a couple of Cyclones, and even a custom Toronado.

Harry has a tornado ever hit the city of chicago? l really don't know..

Yes, back in the 60s, I think, a tornado touched down within city limits on the southwest side near Midway Airport. As far as I know that's the only time a tornado touched down within the actual city limits.

There was something on ABC7 about that, IIRC Jerry Taft said it was 1965 when that happened.

We got hit pretty hard down here in Vermilion County, at least 3 tornadoes touched down, with one being an EF3. Seemed most of the worst of it skirted Danville, with the bulk of the damage either north or south of the city. Lost power around 1:15, didn't get it back until 10 PM. Made for an interesting day at work, especially considering that I usually do not work Sundays.

The one that caused the most damage in Illinois was in Washington (a suburb of Peoria). I heard today it was classified as an EF4, winds estimated at 190 MPH!

I had heard there were a few EF4s. Gibson City and Gifford got hit with them, too. Haven't heard the extend of damage in Washington, but most of the coverage I've seen has been local. I did hear that Indiana got hit pretty hard, too, especially Lafayette and Kokomo. Been expecting to hear from my friend Walt (W-M-D on here) who lives in Lafayette to find out how bad it is.

Yes the town of Washington, Illinois really got hit bad and the news coverage is really heartbreaking. Even though one sees all the damage on the news, it's kinda hard to imagine what those people have gone through and now have nothing but hope.

5:06 am, 43 degrees and it has been raining steady for over 24 hours. We average 4-5 inches of rainfall a year. This weather has now dumped over 2 inches of rain in this one storm.

Wierd, I blame Arizona.........................

Us? Really?

10:30 a.m., 54 degrees, and it's been raining steadily for 48 hours.

We blame Lost Wages! The Line was obviously heavy for 'no rain' and somebody in the mob rigged the outcome!

(It's still raining . . . I gotta get back to building my ark.)

How was the drive to work for you guys today? Seemed like as soon as I crossed from DuPage to Kane Counties that every time I touched the very worn brakes on my Jeep, the tires locked up and slid, got a bit too aggressive with the throttle, they would spin in 4wd, manually downshift, and it would squirm as it dropped into first. I then noticed other, much newer cars and trucks (w/ABS, TC, SC, ECT) having similar problems. Turns out the plow/salt truck that was working that area lost power steering as it got started and didn't get much done on top of Kane underestimating the weather......
