Harry P. Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Thanks to Chris R for this one. Remember, do not post hints or answers here. PM me with year, make and model. The answer: 1962-66 Willys Interlago Berlineta
Harry P. Posted November 18, 2013 Author Posted November 18, 2013 It looks like the neighbor next door has the same car...
DonW Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Yes it's slightly surreal, I imagine a neighbourhood where everyone has one, in a different colour!
DonW Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Well spotted, Don. So are the door shut line at the front, and the proportions of the nose, now I look more closely. I think I might know what the other vehicle is. Superficially very similar though! Pretty cars, I think,
wisdonm Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 My guess is that it's a pix of a dealer or the factory and the yellow car is the even rarer coupe model.
DonW Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 My guess is that it's a pix of a dealer or the factory and the yellow car is the even rarer coupe model.I thought that but I couldn't match any pictures I found to those shut lines or specific 'B' pillar line. Hmmm. I'm glad this isn't the subject of the quiz (don't get ideas, Harry!)
Harry P. Posted November 22, 2013 Author Posted November 22, 2013 Chris... this one may have been too easy! Way too many people got it right! This week's car is a 1962-66 Willys Interlago Berlineta. From wikipedia: The (Alpine) A108 was also produced in Brazil, thanks to an agreement with Willys-Overland. Renamed as Willys Interlagos, the model was built in three versions: berlineta, coupé, and convertible. The car also had a successful racing career. From 1962 to 1966, a total of 822 Interlagos were made in São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo. DonW Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 But what's the yellow one? logic suggests it's from the same family but I can't manage to prove it!
slusher Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Many got it right but l could not figure it out or find anything close...
Thom Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 So what differentiates the Willys from the Renault?
W-409 Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 This was easy, because I have the same car in my archives of pictures to be used on Auto ID Quiz on another forum. BTW: Is it possible to give a little hint for you, Harry, about one possible upcoming car? I might have one pretty good one....
Harry P. Posted November 23, 2013 Author Posted November 23, 2013 BTW: Is it possible to give a little hint for you, Harry, about one possible upcoming car? I might have one pretty good one.... Send me a PM.
Lovefordgalaxie Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 But what's the yellow one? logic suggests it's from the same family but I can't manage to prove it! Nope, not the same family. Different maker in fact.
