bill_rules Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 I just uploaded this from Photobucket. Click the "More reply Options" button and you will get the option to preview your post to see if the image appears. I used the IMG link for this pic.
sjordan2 Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 If you look down in the Q&A section, you'll see a current thread on these problems. The typical problem seems to occur most often with the Internet Explorer browser.
Lowlife ! ! Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Nope........ I cant paste anything over , and now if I click the image icon it freezes my screen. Ahhhhh !!
Lowlife ! ! Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Thanks guys, sjordan2 ive read this thread but theres no link from casey to explain it ! Guess the only way is stop using Internet Explorer ????
sjordan2 Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Send a pm to Casey. I believe there's a step for resetting IE preferences.
bill_rules Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Your browser could be the problem. I use Firefox, haven't used Internet Explorer in years.
Daddyfink Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 I use Google Chrome and it works just fine. Lots of sites no longer support Explorer
sjordan2 Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 The current topic I'm referring to was moved to the off-topic lounge down at the bottom, not Q&A.
Lowlife ! ! Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Thanks for the help so far people ! Im still working on it, but I let you know how it goes..........
Guest Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 You don't need to click the image box. Just click inside the message box like you normally post. Then, go to your Photobucket. Pick your image, hover the mouse in the upper right corner to bring the drop down menu. Click on "share links". Another box will appear. Click on the IMG code. Come back here, right click and click paste.
Casey Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Thanks for the help so far people ! Im still working on it, but I let you know how it goes.......... Click here, Martin: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=81824&p=1059026 If you're using Internet Explorer (IE) as your web browser, you'll most likely need to click the "Compatibility View" option in the header bar to make IE work better with the forum...or switch to Google Chrome as your web browser and enjoy smooth sailing.
Lowlife ! ! Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Casey (and everyone else who helped...) THANKYOU !!! Finally found the IE toolbar and added this site to the compatable view thingy ! Anyway it works now !! Thanks again........Lowlife ! !

Fabrux Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 (edited) So I'm not sure if anyone else is having this problem, but I seem to be unable to post new threads at the moment. I recently switched from Chrome to Firefox on my laptop as Chrome was quite the resource hog and running really slow. At first I thought maybe it was just an issue with Firefox, but the same thing happened in Chrome when I tried again. I was trying to post a new WIP thread in the car section, and when I hit the "Post New Topic' button, the little green progress bar did not appear at the top of the window and I got kicked back to the forum index rather than the topic list for the car On The Workbench section. I am running Firefox and Chrome current versions on Windows 8.1. EDIT: I was able to get the thread started on my phone and paste in everything else (phone is running Android KitKat and Chrome). Danny Lectro Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 (edited) So I'm not sure if anyone else is having this problem, but I seem to be unable to post new threads at the moment. I recently switched from Chrome to Firefox on my laptop as Chrome was quite the resource hog and running really slow. I am running Firefox and Chrome current versions on Windows 8.1. EDIT: I was able to get the thread started on my phone and paste in everything else (phone is running Android KitKat and Chrome).I had a similar problem when I tried to respond to a post in an existing thread. I wrote a couple of paragraphs on my Android tablet, using the Android browser, and when I tapped "Post," I was kicked out to the forum main page. I tried it again on a Windows computer running Chrome, and the same thing happened. I tried without quoting the post I was replying to, I tried typing the post in a word processor program and then copying the text into the reply box, I tried removing the hard-returns I had separating paragraphs, and the same thing happened each time. I even tried PMing my reply to the member, and I received an error message that a PM must contain more than three characters, when I had typed in two full paragraphs. I have posted other things in the same thread, and other threads, with no problem. The only thing I can think of is the forum software may have choked on some of the local names I had mentioned in my attempted post. Edited January 24, 2015 by Danny Lectro
Casey Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Chris and Danny, were the posts in question in the Model Trucks section?
Danny Lectro Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 (edited) Chris and Danny, were the posts in question in the Model Trucks section? Hi Casey. Mine was in the General section, particularly in the "Michael's - What's your opinion?" topic. It also happened when I tried PM the user I was trying to reply to. I remember having something similar happen just one other time in a different thread, but unfortunately I don't remember which one. Thanks! Edited January 24, 2015 by Danny Lectro
Fabrux Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Chris and Danny, were the posts in question in the Model Trucks section? No, I was posting in the cars section.
Fabrux Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Further to the issue I was having before, I can't edit the title of the thread to include updates. The thread in question is here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=98130 I haven't attempted to start any threads since that one.
Casey Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I know there are some funky things which happen in the Model Trucks when using attachments, but I'm not sure why you aren't able to edit that topic title.
Fabrux Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Are you able to edit it and have it stick, Casey? Or any of the other mods?
Casey Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Yes, I just edited and it worked fine. Try editing it again yourself, please, and LMK if it works.
Fabrux Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I was able to edit the initial post with the in-line editor but when I tried to use the full editor it kicked me back out to the forum index and didn't save the changes.
Casey Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Are you doing this via a mobile device, Chris? If so, are you using the mobile or full version of the forum?
Fabrux Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 I only ever use the full version if the forum on my phone, but I have been trying to post/edit on my laptop.
