Old-school VIP, anyone? That's what I'm thinking. B)

Oh I have no doubt that's what Aoshima is thinking too, no way they tooled these up just to make a pair of factory stockers out of them.

Oh man!

I didn't even know there was a Cedric kit!

That was an "executive saloon", wasn't it? Such a weird name, but nicely formal in its styling.

I love it! I must find one!

I don't know what colours they came in, but I picture it in dark metallic maroon, like my G8.

I'm hoping you're right- that'll just mean that if I'm patient I can build my old-school VIP with no kitbashing and/or aftermarket intervention required.

Considering the vast amounts of VIP and other wild Japanese styles that have been derived off the earlier 330 Generation Cedric/Gloria that are in the "Best Vintage Car" line...more shall come.

Interesting note the 430 Generation (5th) of the Gloria/Cedric was designed in cooperation with Pininfarina, although without so much as a hint of Ferrari B)

Looking forward to these two...mine are still on backorder w/ HLJ. Aoshima also made a 430 '81 Cedric Brougham 280E 4dr ht, wonder if it shares some parts w/ these kits.

These were supposedly all new tool, now whether it was clean sheet, or if it shared some patterns I don't know, I don't have the "Best Vintage Car" kits.

I'd like to get one, but new import kits aren't in the budget.

I remeber seeing some previews of Aoishima bosozuku styled kits, and one was a Cedric, too.

I've got my two Fujimi's I'll have to be content with.

Not to question your budget, but I will say with the favorable exchange rate, and the ever increasing price of domestic kits, these two are right around the same price as anything from Revell, and cheaper than Moebius if your LHS/Kit Supplier is charging close to MSRP (like Hobbytown USA does more franchises than not). The Gloria/Cedric are $26.00 ($24.80 at HLJ), and the slowboat shipping from Japan is about $7, making them $31-$33. The gap is rapidly closing between prices anymore.

James makes some very valid points, one thing he didnt mention, was the sales tax at the LHS, so after tax, you are going to be within a few dollars of new Domestic kits
