Danno Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Just as long as it doesn't disrupt the efficient delivery of your mail!
Harry P. Posted February 5, 2014 Author Posted February 5, 2014 Just as long as it doesn't disrupt the efficient delivery of your mail! "Efficient delivery of mail." What a concept. The USPS might want to try that one day... BTW... still nothing in the mailbox...
disabled modeler Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 We got at least 12 inches here and were supposed to get more late week....drive activation cable on our snow blower broke today....no place to get indoors to try and fix it ether...
Danno Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 "Efficient delivery of mail." What a concept. The USPS might want to try that one day... BTW... still nothing in the mailbox... Yeah, Today it is vacationing in Hanover Park.
von Zipper Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Looks like we got another 6-8 inches overnight... and it's still snowing. I'm running out of places to throw this stuff! Is it spring yet? 6-8 inches ? We call that morning frost around here !! I've got 6 snow mountains around here that are at least 20 ft. high because I've run out of room to plow the driveway But then I like to think about what it's like in July and 85* with a cool breeze coming in off Lake Michigan...if you squint real hard you might be able to see Wisconsin from here (not)
Harry P. Posted February 5, 2014 Author Posted February 5, 2014 ok... so you are near the coast, to the east of the lake, right? That's prime "lake effect" real estate. You guys ALWAYS get way more snow than anyone else. Same with everyone that lives on the receiving side of the winds moving over a large lake, like Cleveland and Buffalo.
Ace-Garageguy Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Jeez. If Atlanta had snowfall like you guys, the city would be paralyzed until June.
Ace-Garageguy Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I think we have enough snow here, that we ought to start loading it on to rail cars, and send it to California where they have water shortages!! Call it "snowfarming". It could revitalize the rust belt economy.
Danno Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 If snow was a crop, the government would pay you to not shovel it.
Agent G Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I saw a cloud today. I put on a jacket and went for coffee. G
Harry P. Posted February 5, 2014 Author Posted February 5, 2014 I saw a cloud today. I put on a jacket and went for coffee. G Did you stock up on provisions? You never know, one cloud turns into two clouds, then four... and before you know it you have a cloud emergency! If snow was a crop, the government would pay you to not shovel it. Ain't that the truth...
crazyjim Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I saw a cloud today. I put on a jacket and went for coffee. G I laughed out loud at that one, G.
Harry P. Posted February 5, 2014 Author Posted February 5, 2014 Dan... see that lonely little white mailbox? It's still waiting...
Danno Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 OMG! WHAT'S ALL THAT WHITE STUFF??? Did you have a neighborhood pillow fight? Really, if you see a mailman coming down the street . . . hold him hostage until his friends quit riding that package around the state. So far, the past two weeks I think it's been in nearly every IL town but yours!
Agent G Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I'm trying to figure out how I mail a package to Antioch, Illinois that gets routed through Atlanta.............. G
Tom Geiger Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Today "S" stood for SOLID ICE. We didn't get any snow, it was warm enough that we had freezing rain overnight. By morning everything was solid and tree limbs and power lines were coming down left and right. We lost power around 5:30am and got it back around 5:00pm. About 80% of our county was out, most still is so we're fortunate to have power and heat once again!
Harry P. Posted February 5, 2014 Author Posted February 5, 2014 I want my global warming!!! And I want it NOW!!!
customsrus Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 We just got about 10 inches on Tuesday evening. what a mess it was this morning going to work.
madhorseman Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 What's a little more snow? I'll be dressed up and chasin' that Toro tomorrow morning. Oh well, on the bright side it will be another day closer to spring. Yipee! Nick, every time You say "chasin' the Toro", it makes me think of the "Running of the Bulls", lol.
madhorseman Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 If snow was a crop, I'd be rich! You gotta remember Harry.....supply, and demand.
Craig Irwin Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 I want my global warming!!! And I want it NOW!!! Mother nature is trying real hard to tell you that global warming is a farce!
High octane Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 I got the message Craig, and there's MORE cold, snow, cold, and snow on the way. This is all before spring get here too! At this rate, there'll still be snow on the ground in mid-April. Oh well.
1930fordpickup Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 They said 8.5 more today. I think they need to recheck that . Looks more like 10 plus to me.

I wonder if Firestone makes Indy 500 tires with snow studs?
