NEWSFLASH!!!

Updated weather forecasts now list "possibility" of the R-word for our upcoming weekend. Maybe.

Wow. Let the ark-building commence.

A "warm-up" is coming as well. Yeah right, the only thing that is going to heat up is my gas bill. I can hardly wait.

Warm up? I just heard that the forecast low for Wednesday night is supposed to be 8 below zero. That would break the all-time record low for cold temp for that date (Feb. 26).

Spring? That's just a rumor...

The "R" in predicted Arizona?

OMG! Dude RUN! Grab the family and head here. I have spare bedrooms, one of which is a mancave.

Oh wait, "R" in Arizona means "R" in Nevada within a day.

Better tune up the outboard.

Crank up your thermostat Harry and you'll get your "warm up." LOL!

I'm tired of making a second mortgage payment to the gas company every month!

Sure, just in time for the NASCAR teams. Another rain delayed race is just what the networks want, especially on Oscar night!

Let's hope it comes overnight Danno!

I don't know how you guys out there can survive the endless days of sunshine and temps in the 80s-90s. Just brutal.

The battery in our 1999 Plymouth Breeze gave up the ghost, no doubt killed by the constant cold weather this year. I can't complain since my records show it was 7 years old. So today I went to Pep Boys and had them install a new battery. The old one was their Bosch, so I replaced it in kind. Yea, I'd normally put my own battery in, but I wasn't dealing with it outside in the cold and damp today!

My Mustang's battery gave out in late November, two days before Thanksgiving. I remember because I was going to see my daughters downstate on Thanksgiving.

I remember trying to start the car and it barely turned over. Went to my mechanic and had a new battery installed that very day... and perfect timing, considering the weather we've had since then!!!

One of my best investments of the last few years is one of those power station things that Pep Boys sells for around $60. That's what I jump started the car with this morning. Aside from the jumper cables, same tool is an air pump, a light, can be used to charge cell phones and a mess of other things. This winter I've kept it charged. The day we lost power during a storm, I used to as a light and cell phone charger.

I'd suggest you all move here, but then you all would complain about triple digit temps in JJ & A. I don't miss Chicagp weather at all.58 years of that was enough.

Yeah. It rained last year and I think most years when we get an early Spring rain it comes on the weekend of our NASCAR events!

One of the earliest Spring NASCAR races I attended at PIR turned into a frog-strangler and shortened the race. Parking lots were lakes and the streets/roads flooded.

And little sun dresses, and short-shorts, and tank tops, and wet T-shirts, and string bikinis, and thong bikinis, and smaller bikinis and 1/2-bikinis . . . Yep, it's brutal.

But somebody's gotta live here. ;)

The sameness does get boring..today was overcast, though, nice change. The cool winter weather is nice--nights down in the 50s, daytime in the 70s-80s. I don't mind Nov-Apr. It's May-Oct that I don't like..too many weeks of triple digit temps.

I guess you're taking one for the team...

Yeah, 81 today, beautiful, but you always have to remember to wear dark shades or you might get blinded by all the bright white skin people are starting to show!
